The USB hub is for connecting other devices such as mouse, keyboard, flash drives.

The USB-C port is for power and video.

At least, that's how mine works.

What's the brightness on this model? I tried a very similar unit from Amazon 3 years ago and I returned it because it was too dim. The specs showed it as 400 nits but it seemed dimmer and more washed out than I expected. The model I bought was named "Monoprice 27in CrystalPro Monitor - 4K UHD, 2560x1440p, 60Hz, DisplayHDR 400, Height Adjustable Stand, IPS - Home, Office, Business, Student Use" on Amazon. The model number was 137923. I paid $360 at the time.

My 4K 27in monoprice monitor has been going strong 7 years ago, wish it had usb-c pd. This is very good deal for non gaming monitor for a decent brand.

How does it compare to the LG 27UK500-B? primarily use would be 3d modeling and some lite video editing.

Not sure whether Monoprice model has downstreaming usbc for daisy chaining. It is important for dual monitor setup if you don't have a separate docking station.

So I'm guessing this doesn't have freesync? It's too bad, seems like it'd be great for gaming otherwise.

Not a lot of reviews on this one, but the Amazon reviews suggest it's not a very durable monitor.
