No, it isn't. If you purchased before their 25% off coupon: RK25 expired on December 8th, as I did, it would have been only $89.

In hindsight it deserved its own thread. But it was mentioned here: https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/17084716

This is a music player only. Nvidia shield is a media player which is mostly for video

You can get Apple TV 4K 2022 below $100, before they stripped some hardware.
Does that do just music?

I use it to stream apple music in ATMOS format. Maybe it has an app that can play music over DLNA or remote storage.

Does Wiim Pro wifi support airplay 2? Their official page says yes, but there's no mention of it on the Rockville audio page.

Dac of this is pcm5121 which is popular in 5 bucks usb c dongle....with 50 bucks you can get a BT box with ldac + ess9038. much much better than this crap in terms of sound quality.

Thank you for clarifying. $89 would have been sweet for the WiiM Pro. Will wait for the next discount!
Just in case you weren't aware, the RK25 coupon deal is back.

What's the most inexpensive subscription or free way to get hi-res audio?
Hook up your AV receiver with ARC or EARC to your flat screen. Pull up YouTube and search for MrVinylobsessive. Set the video quality to 1080p. Start with dire straits sultans of swing. Thank me later. Most receivers have wonderful DACS.

This system is mainly directed towards people who want good sound quality while also being able to stream anything. Most people are going to be limited by the quality of their streaming service before the hardware in this limited them. The only way it wouldn't be is if your running a dlna server or roon system which if you have that setup your probably are going to go with the WiiM pro plus anyway

This system has nothing to do with good sound quality. A burner android phone + 5 bucks usb c dongle can archive same steaming purpose + sound quality.

Use the optical cable to your receiver to use it's DAC

Or just get the Wiim Pro Plus. It was on offer BF/CM for 175$. That one has a much better DAC.

If you just want to stream and have strong wifi signal get the WiiM mini + external dac.
If you need analog input for a turntable, or need trigger-out for a power amp, etc, plus hard wired ethernet and need for a remote - get the WiiM pro + external DAC
If you need the above and dont want to use an external DAC, get the WiiM Pro Plus

Biggest advantage is that this is one of few devices that can stream bit perfect amazon music at hi-res. The app is polished, gets frequent firmware updates with good response to user feedback.
Capable of multi room and supports alexa speaker groups.

Maybe for the Wiim software? It isn't Sonos but I have 10 Wiim Mini's streaming audio into a couple home distributed audio amps and can control all the "zones"/Wiim-mini's with their amp or Spotify. Maybe the Wiim Pro doesn't do the same type of thing?
