Yes I agree. ALL these manufactures has chips and you can thank "HP" for the chip because I remember when I bought an HP Business Ink (2004) they start using "Smart chips". Then I bought a Canon Bubble Jet 6000 and they had chips. When I bought a Desk jet 820Cse I don't think the attached chips back of the cartridge back then in 1995. I could be wrong though but that is what I remembered.

There were no chips back then. I had a canon bubble jet 610 and an hp Deskjet 850c...but there were no generic carts back then either...at least until the early 2000s. The printers were like $550 and the carts were well over $40 each to print like 150 pages 🤣

Yes that is so true. The Early2000's were the best of printer in my opinion because no chips. There were refillable inks back then but you still can print on those OEM cartridges. At the back of the circuits you had to put tape to cover it and reinsert to the printer and it can print so easy back then. Yes back then printers were so expensive and it's not even a laser color back then.

Staples Rewards have short expiry. Make sure you use them ASAP.

Staples Rewards are issued online monthly in increments of $5. Rewards expire the last day of the month following the month in which they are issued and cannot be redeemed after the expiration date. Monthly balances of less than $5 will roll over through the end of the following calendar quarter. Unissued rewards will expire at the end of the following calendar quarter unless a Qualifying Purchase is made during that rollover period. For full program details, visit staples.com/rewards.
Oh that means you have to buy from Staples again.

I order the printer on 12-18-23 from B&H Photo and I just got my Brother 3295CDW 12-20-23 and guess what?? it doesn't work. Perhaps I got a defective unit. It's says Cannot Print 1D" error message. I will have to exchange the printer and see if that works. I pray it works on the replacement. So now I have to hold off comparing the HP and Brother print out. If anyone purchase this printer please post here to see if you have any problems or not.

UPDATE 12-22-23:
Called Brother today and I and the rep chatted:

Jason: This issue is caused by the drum unit, we will send a no charge order for the drum. In order to complete your warranty service on drum, please send us a detailed copy of your receipt showing the place of purchase, date of purchase, and Brother product purchased.

Me: So this error is caused by the drum? What is wrong with the drum unit and do you know which color drum caused it to have this error?

Jason: This error occurs when the drum is defective, there is not particular defect to mention, usually replacing the drum will solve the error in most of the cases, however, if the drum doesn't resolve it, the machine will require service as this could be a mechanical malfunction as well.

Me: So when this error occurs it usually means the "drum problem"?

Jason:That is correct, the drum comes with 90 days of warranty, if it occurs within this period,If applicable we do a replacement for the drum. If the drum we send doesn't resolve it, we proceed with the warranty options available on the machine.

OK at least now I know why it cause that error. I hope when I get my replacement it will be fine and no problems at all. I hope if ANYONE encounter this error message now you know what it means and how to fix the problem .

It's downright disgusting!

HP leading the way to anti consumer choice!
And now they want to do that whole subscription for printing crap!

Yes it is. HP was not like not like that before. They didn't use to force people to buy the subscription thing before in the 2000's. Thank goodness Canon and Brother does not force people to subscribe their toners at all for now. **Hopefully** the will never do that and it will be "optional" but hey you never know they can follow HP ways and tell people you must subscribe to get the toners.

That is why I am going to switch brand to Brother. I had Canon before I don't like them because they "force" you to buy an extended warranty "within" 90 days that is ridiculous. After 90 days you can't buy the extended warranty from Canon at all. I don't want to buy their extend warranty within 90days. I want at the end next year (E.G. purchase 2023 and 2024 I will purchase the extended warranty before it expires in 2024). ONLY HP and Bother let's you do that and let's you buy an extended warranty before the warranty ends the following year.

Hi Everyone,

My replacement printer Brother HL-L3295CDW came and finally it works! I had several pages of compassion with HP CP2025N and the color on the Brother are OK but it is not as saturated as the HP CP2025N. Look and compare yourself. If you want to save some $$$ I would go for a Brother instead of HP and their OEM toners are "lower" then HP and has more pages to print. If you care about quality more then buy HP. If you just want to have color then go for a Brother.
