As of right now latest drivers and all yes this 3070 is better than a 4060, I'd bet that as driver updates come out that it'll be neck and neck in a couple years. But at this very moment yes absolutely better.

3070 destroys 4060 in game performance, the only thing 4060 has is lower power usage and frame generation. But the 3070 still performs better than the 4060 with frame generation on. Also refurb direct from acer this system has been sub 900 before, might be worth checking there if you don't want to deal with affirm.

Be prepared to add some fans and most likely change the 500w power supply that comes with it. The motherboard is proprietary according to the review.

Why would you need to change the power supply? It's an 80Plus Gold and the TDP on the 3070 is only 220W.

Unless you plan on replacing the 3070 with a 3090 (which might not even fit in this case), there's absolutely no need for more wattage.

Just a heads up on these Affirm deals that keep getting spammed on here: Apparently Affirm does a hard pull on your credit.

Probably not the best time to get a ding on your score with all the reports that 2024 might be a downturn year.

I usually hate affirm and all these micro loan companies. But, this is a decent deal to use affirm, get it at 0% would be the only good thing.

While the GPU only uses 220W, the more common recommendation for a 3070 system is around a 650W PSU. Plus while the TDP gives you a bare minimum needed, trying to toe that line makes for much less efficient system. I've seen claims that you're supposed to use a PSU with 40% headroom for your needs to make the best use of the power efficiency (less wasted power). Using only 500W to start seems like cutting corners and just hoping you never want to add or change anything. Especially if it is a non-standard PSU like has been mentioned, making any upgrade(s) more likely to be difficult in the future. So while you probably don't need more than a 500W PSU, it is still definitely something that should be mentioned and worth considering.

Really my main gripe with this system is they've stuck with DDR4 in a ~$1K system. Frown

I bought this exact desktop 1 year ago for 1200$. It was good for 2k gaming. One thing i noticed is the GPU usually gets 100F when you play heavy games or try with the 4k resolution.

100F or 100C? 100F would be like idle temperature of a low end card.
