I don't know why someone downvoted this, it's a very nicely configured budget laptop. Fast processor, good display, and full power 4060, unlike many.

This deal is terrible. There have been better deals for both 4060 and 4070 recently, and are expected to come back for christmas.

I don't understand why they would pair DDR4 with a 40xx series GPU. I had to double check myself that DDR 5 is the newest when the BB info says "16GB of next generation, dual-channel, DDR4 3200Mhz system memory

16GB memory significantly increases performance, compared to single-channel, and the blazing fast 3200MHz DDR4 next generation memory standard allows this model to multitask with ease."

Like WTF, DDR4 hasn't been next Gen since 2016 !?!

Can you post a few examples of better deals so I can look out for similar deals in the future? I'm willing to wait for something better.

I'd take a great desktop deal or an amazing laptop deal.

Thanks!

Because gaming performance evens out the resolution goes up. You do not need DDR5 for 1080P gaming which is all the screen is capable of. If you game externally, you only get the discrete graphics directly from the HDMI port. However, most games will show almost no difference at QHD and UHD with this setup.

Just because something is the latest and greatest does not mean it is the right solution for job, especially when the rest of the system is geared towards being the best valued 4070 Laptop on the market.

This machine is actually incredibly well balanced for performance and price.

Don't buy into somebody's claims who has never touched the thing. I game in 3440x1440, I have the 4070 version of this and the games run well over 100 FPS in most of my games. If the higher performing 4070 cannot take advantage of the excess RAM Bus, how can we expect a 4060 too.

Paying 20% to 40% more to get an average of 2.3% improvement in 1080P, knowing that will largely disappear at higher resolutions shows that DDR5 does not make sense with these specs. The video below goes into it with a similar spec laptop.

With that said, I would grab the 4070 version for less than $100 more than this.

Because DDR5 rarely makes any difference. There have been reviews on the 4070 model, and they perform well in gaming... like other laptops with full power GPUs. And the 12700H is quite a bit faster than the 7735HS that is in a lot of deals this year.

Here is one: https://www.youtube.com/live/0Hcc...s97wNWNrSU

12,200 in Timespy graphic isn't shabby.

They have 2 according to Laptopmag's test of the 4050 version. Is there a gaming laptop that doesn't?

Better or worse deal than the 7700s deal for $780 about 2 weeks ago? https://slickdeals.net/f/17131942-asus-tuf-a16-laptop-16-1200p-165hz-ryzen-7-7735hs-rx-7700s-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-780-free-shipping
Depends on whether the extra $120 is worth it for Nvidia, both are from Asus' budget TUF line so there's not much difference.

4070 model was $999 and at that price it would definitely be worth upgrading to.

This is a decent amount more expensive but performs similarly in games.
