Really good deal on a capable gaming laptop with great display for the price. The previous popular FP deals (twice) were on this with the RX 7600S for $749.99.

Yes, it's more or less equivalent to an RTX 4060.
On paper, it's 30% faster than the 7600S.

Imo, it's not. Overall, this is slightly better and the RTX 4070 isn't a major jump from the 4060/7700s to justify a $200 jump; maybe a $50-$100.

What are the performance gainz of this over the 7600s , that was ahead of the 4050 raw performance wise. Is this equal or better than a 4060?

There's almost nothing to find on youtube or google about the 7700s.. with so few laptops using this chip, do we think AMD will have enough incentive to stay on top of driver updates?

​This is a very tempting system to snag.. I might buy it today and just return it if the drivers seem like an issue or the 7700s doesn't offer 4060-like speeds.

AMD uses FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) that does similar AI upscaling to what DLSS does. The new version can do frame generation too. It's arguably not as visually good as DLSS, but as long as the game supports it, you do have a similar tech to nVidia's.

4060 is better due to DLSS/Frame Gen being more mature technologies at this point in time. Its VRAM is also utilized more efficiently than Radeon GPUs. However, this is still a good price for 4060-class performance and a great battery life.

Same - there's so little laptops with the 7700s, was surprised. Can literally only find one listing for a 7700s laptop on Amazon.

roughly, the 7700s is like the 6800s / so performance wise should be around 5-10 percent difference in favor of the 4060

well true, but the chip is literally the 7600m xt but slightly lower clock (100 mhz) but its the exact same card

and you can basically directly compare the specs to the 6800s but with some slight rdna3 enhancements so av1 encoding/decoding capabilities

but yea... just look at benchmarks of either of those chips to get an idea of performance
