Can't recommend this item. If you read the reviews you will see they are notorious for going dead in a short amount of time. Happened to me within 6 months.

Cool light when it works. I believe the other similar model sold by Govee at the cheaper price is more reliable based on the reviews.

Decent price if yoy decide to take the chance. I paid $99 previously.

Yeah, I don't really get why the strip lights are so cheap, but this thing (which I assume is basically just the strip lights built into a frame) is so much more expensive.

Can't recommend this item. If you read the reviews you will see they are notorious for going dead in a short amount of time. Happened to me within 6 months.

I hear the opposite. Maybe the grass is greener on the other side. People who buy the cheaper version say the more expensive version is better. So who knows... maybe you had a 1 off faulty unit.

I'll give my input, I have two of these I setup as bedroom lights on both sides of my bed. I have used these since November 2021 daily, where they're connected to my rooms light switch. So they come back on based on the last setting you had, the previous brightness and color.

I guess I've been fortunate it's worked for me as expected and for this length of time.

I can say my first generation (or same model that's an older revision of this one I should say) is going strong since I got it late Nov 2021. I bought this newer revision for another room during Prime Day 2023 (so July) that's still fine 4+ months later. I got both Lyras for $99 and $98, respectively. Time will tell, but I haven't had issues with Govee stuff dying prematurely (yet).

Ugh, damn you! I'm really tempted to get a second for the mancave at this price! I only ever buy them (or any Govee stuff tbh) when they're inevitably on sale. Like someone else said, this should be it's regular price honestly but $81 is nice!

Govee's pricing on amazon is all over the place. I'm pretty sure this was just $99 with a $40 off coupon last week. They change the prices and coupons of their items all the time.

Fwiw I own probably 20+ govee products and I have had zero issues with reliability.

I don't own this light or the old model but if it's like any of their other products I would not be worried at all. Govee support is also decent in my experience.
