No. It designates that it's a semi-hollow body model.

Bought an open box version of this for my wife September of last year for 329.99 and she loves it. When I picked it up there was a blemish in the finish and Guitar Center gave me a further discount I can't recall how much, seems like 10-20 percent. She loves the semi hollow body because it's lighter than her standard Tele and Strat. And you can hear it a little when practicing unplugged. The finish on hers could've been better but at 300ish that we paid it's a great guitar.

I got this one for the same price beginning of November. I think it is good. I am not sure.

I bought this exact model/color used for about the same price from Reverb. It's a great affordable Thinline alternative. There aren't many well priced Thinline options out there.

This is a limited finish for this model and has these block fretboard markings further giving it a unique look for the Squier CV Thinline humbucker models. So definitely pick it up if you like the style because it usually only is available in Natural and Sunburst with dot fretboard inlays. And they're usually $450.

Pulled the trigger and got this email.
Why is there an option to 'Request the item new in box'? Are they open-box? First time ordering from MF.
Also, the GC website shows the local store that is referred to in the email has 0 in stock.

I've seen complaints about floor models being sold as new. It could also mean extra packaging done by guitar center or something. I've gotten double boxed guitars from elsewhere but just guessing. I'd ask for a new item.
