Its 2 cents less than it was sold on October. Best place to buy unlocked phone. If you can get the appleCare+ refunded with Apple, you might get this phone for around 750+taxes. YMMV on applecare refund.

It is a deal. Many people add AppleCare. AppleCare is $ 200 for the Pro model.
The 15 pro max. $ 1199 plus $ 200 AppleCare. Thats $ 1399 vs $ 999. Quite a deal actually.
The 15 does have 256 vs 128. A lot of people don't care about that.
