You're really going to have to back that up with some information. Some googling just reveals typical disgruntled customers.

My iBuyPower rig is 5 years old and has since had most components upgraded. No complaints here other than replacing the occasional fan.
He got a refurbished video card as a warranty replacement when his PC crapped out. Apparently they can do it under the warranty terms. He posts this in every ibuy thread

Bought three for the kids a few years ago. Been absolutely nothing wrong with them. One's even been kind of abused and going strong (the computer not the child…er… For any confusion, the computer is going strong, and the child is still alive. :-)

To be fair, that's still pretty shady since they didn't disclose it.

If you read the post on Reddit, the card had something like a three year old manufacturing date and was registered to a different customer for almost as long (the customer went out of their way to register it with the card manufacturer), which means it had been used and could have been for mining.

Now, I know well enough that if a card can be refurbished, it's probably going to survive the life of the system and most would be none the wiser. But it still feels like a raw deal.

If you buy new and you're covered under warranty, you expect to be restored whole.

Not really a bumble brag.

This has an i7, twice as much RAM, and double the amount of storage with about a third more bandwidth.

The extra $300 is justified.

Is the cyberpowerpc better in value? It's 100 less with ddr5 vs this ddr4, only cpu is 5i vs 7i.

It's 600w.
You're going to need to spend ~$150 or so on a new ~850 W PSU if you upgrade the GPU depending on the model, but a 4060 should be good for most people if they aren't playing flight simulators or VR. I am able to run remnant II at 1440p on my mobile 4060, which is much slower than the desktop 4060. Seems like a good deal.

3060 is arguably a better card than the 4060. Especially if it's the 8gb variant 4060 (Edit, it is the 8gb variant).

That 3060 will play any game at 1080p with ultimate settings and most games at 1440p high settings.

If they're both the same generation processor, then always go with the i7.

Even if there were a significant tangible difference between DDR5 and DDR4, the processor matters more.

Also, overclocking higher end DDR4 can get you pretty close to DDR5 clocks as it is.

Where'd you pull that nonsense from?

The 4060 is computationally faster than the 3060, hands down.

Aside from a few outliers which are mostly unoptimized ports, the 4060 is clearly faster in benchmarks.

If your 4060 is slower than a 3060, then you really need to look into what else is wrong with your system.

For instance, keeping your drivers up to date is very important with these cards.

If he starts playing at higher resolutions than 1080p, the extra Vram on the 3060 is going to come in handy. Also, if the motherboard can take full advantage of the extra memory bus width the 3060 has (192bit vs. 128bit on the 4060), then it is definitely not worth spending an additional $300 just to get the 4060.

Relax dude, no one is saying the 4060 is not a good card, I'm just answering the guy's question if it is worth the hassle to return the system he bought with a 3060 in favor of the 4060 which IMO for $300, it is not.

Fact of the matter is, I'd build my own system and get a 6700XT over either one of these cards but a lot of people don't want to do that and I get it.

Agreed, if I bought this system I would sell the 4060 and grab a 6700 xt as well (which can be found for less than $300 and performs just as well as a 4060).

4060 is a perfectly acceptable card, but 12 gb of vram > 8 all day for comparable cards.
