My iBuyPower rig is 5 years old and has since had most components upgraded. No complaints here other than replacing the occasional fan.

If you read the post on Reddit, the card had something like a three year old manufacturing date and was registered to a different customer for almost as long (the customer went out of their way to register it with the card manufacturer), which means it had been used and could have been for mining.
Now, I know well enough that if a card can be refurbished, it's probably going to survive the life of the system and most would be none the wiser. But it still feels like a raw deal.
If you buy new and you're covered under warranty, you expect to be restored whole.
This has an i7, twice as much RAM, and double the amount of storage with about a third more bandwidth.
The extra $300 is justified.

That 3060 will play any game at 1080p with ultimate settings and most games at 1440p high settings.
Even if there were a significant tangible difference between DDR5 and DDR4, the processor matters more.
Also, overclocking higher end DDR4 can get you pretty close to DDR5 clocks as it is.

The 4060 is computationally faster than the 3060, hands down.
Aside from a few outliers which are mostly unoptimized ports, the 4060 is clearly faster in benchmarks.
If your 4060 is slower than a 3060, then you really need to look into what else is wrong with your system.
For instance, keeping your drivers up to date is very important with these cards.

Relax dude, no one is saying the 4060 is not a good card, I'm just answering the guy's question if it is worth the hassle to return the system he bought with a 3060 in favor of the 4060 which IMO for $300, it is not.
Fact of the matter is, I'd build my own system and get a 6700XT over either one of these cards but a lot of people don't want to do that and I get it.

4060 is a perfectly acceptable card, but 12 gb of vram > 8 all day for comparable cards.
