Too many issues with the first gen. Stick with free ice from the fridge.

2.0 is worth the upgrade. I bought this one when it first came out. If you get one, add the warranty because you'll need to replace it within 2 years. It's great when it works. Use distilled water and it'll last longer.

2.0 is definitely worth it!! The wifi feature sounds bougie, but the fact that I can set a schedule for it to run is a winning feature. I set it to shut down about an 60-90 mins before we go to bed (it's already full of ice, and it stays that way for a good long while), and then I have it come on 30 mins before we wake up. Not only will the components not have to run constantly, but I also won't have to clean it nearly as often. Bonus!!
