It's pretty commonly used in the northeast corridor between DC / Philly / NYC / Boston
Yes. It's one of the only profitable routes Amtrak operates and cattle class is more comfortable than domestic FC.
Walking is more environment friendly and energy efficient so why don't you do that instead if you're gonna bring up stupid comparisons
