I bought the Ultra 2 as an upgrade from my Series 7 due to the fact it had sapphire glass (more durable), bigger display (my eyesight isn't what it used to be), longer battery life, and I was curious about the double tap feature. Overall, I've been pleased. The things I've enjoyed most since owning (bought open box BB when it came out for ~$620+tax) have been the flat display (feels like more usable space than the curve), the sturdiness of the buttons and ease of access to buttons (I use a Mac and use the watch to double click to unlock), the battery life, the sleep tracking (which do since I have the battery life), and the double click feature. Double click is most helpful for me when dismissing a notification or replying to a text or email. Since that's something I do frequently, it's worth something to me. I probably wouldn't pay for it myself for just that though.

Why didn't you choose a Garmin if I may ask.

I wear this watch every day. TO me this is more of an all around sort of thing feature wise. Can a Garmin take a call or answer a text or similar on a run? The fitness features. I use this with Apple fitness. All around a 10-10. The yearly updates on these watches are nominal. Thats clear. Ill give you another example. I travel the world. I can use the watch for directions without pulling out a smartphone and looking at the screen as I walk. My wife CALLED me in the middle of the NY marathon!!!

Just bought the Ultra 2 and have been using it for a couple of days. I love everything about this watch until nighttime. At night, the screen is SO dim it's difficult to read the small text. Even when brightness settings are at full brightness, the screen is still really dim. Compared to my old Series 4 watch, the S4 is way brighter at nighttime compared to the U2.

A quick Google search showed that a lot of people are complaining about this issue with the Ultra 2 and the Series 9. With the most recent update (watchOS 10.2) the issue still isn't fixed. Apparently Apple is aware of the issue and hopefully another software/firmware update will fix it soon. Just FYI.
This is an easy fix. Apple made this feature not to strain your eyes at night. You can turn this mode off.
Hold the watch screen> chose edit> go to night mode> choose off.
I like night mode auto as it's fantastic at night. Low eye strain

Great watch, but don't wear it if you're around a lot of poors.

A 5cm watch😳. Talk about compensating
My smart watch looks like an Apple Watch, last seven days on a charge and does almost everything except cellular. Oh, and it only cost $24.99

A watch isnt an Iphone. I run marathons and other long races. The battery life on this would be better for me. Right now Ill stick with my Watch 6 and 7. I am sure you dont know this has some potential life saving technolgy to locate people lost etc. Like people who climb mountains. Probably waiting for the next version of this watch in 2024. Unlike other cheap goods you may like these are not worthless the day after you buy it. There are meany health tools and benefits in the Apple watches. Some insurance companies will subsidize or even cover the cost of an Apple watch.
i mean one can always get a apple watch 7. does the same thing

I mean people pay 15k for a rolex, so at least you get some legit use out of it.

True. Series 7 or 8 are both fine.

This has nothing to do with night mode. I'm not talking about the screen turning red at night. Night mode is off on my watch, and it's still too dim. Nice try though.

If you turn the night mode off the watch will not go red. I am using the watch for 2 months and no issues so far

What watch do you use? I can only imagine the quality is extremely crappy and definitely does not do "almost everything" an Apple Watch can do, especially for $25. lol
