Seems like a good deal, just not sure what i'd want 6 smart outlets all next to eachother for. I feel like at most I'd need 3 smart outlets in one location for lights - what else are people using it for?

I use this for my network cabinet to monitor all the things. I also have one under the bed.

It connects to my Sense and helps with understanding the always-on cost of my home.

How are people using this strip? I have a house full of Kasa switches, but I'm struggling to find a good use case for this power strip.
I use several switches on a standard power strip, slightly different but same use case. I use them to control my arcade/pinball collection. The only benefit see with this vs my setup is initial setup vs syncing individual plugs.

I have used the smaller version of this. After about a year or so of usage it no longer works, it just turns on and off by itself.

I have a set of individual Kasa plugs at my 90-year old mother's house. I have two things plugged in there. One is the receiver for her DISH network. The other is a VOIP device. Both of them occasionally need to be reset and she's not capable of doing it. So I would have to drive 20 minutes to simply unplug the device and plug it back in. With the remote control, now when she tells me her phone doesn't work, I just pull out my smart phone and turn the power off to the device then back on again. Saves me a ton of time.

Not something that everyone needs but it's a huge deal for me.

can each usb be controlled individually? Does this make sense to only charge devices after peak hours? In Bay Area, its 50 cents kwh for peak and 25 cents for non peak.
usb is always on, so just use one of the 6 ac ports and put your wall wart in there to control the charging..

A smartphone has a battery capacity of ~0.01 kWh. If you charge it from empty everyday during nonpeak time because you bought this thing, then you'd save about $0.90 each year. It's not worth worrying about the cost of charging your phone.
not quite, an iphone 14 plus is 16.95Wh
365*16.95= 6,186.75 watt-hours or 6.18kWh

At 50 cents, that would be .50*6.18=$3.09
At 25 cents, that would be .25*6.18=$1.55

So, it would technically save you $1.54 per year if you charged your phone only during off-peak.

I was thinking home theater stuff. I have a single outlet on mine and see that even with things off or sleeping I'm still pulling 37 watt. This is TV, Receiver, subwoofer, PS5, roku, etc.
Get a master controlled strip.
My TV is plugged into the master port. When it turns off and on, my reciever does as well.

So the reason I don't do this is cause my PS5 is on sleep mode and it doesn't like to be turned off. The amount of power saved isn't great unless I'm gone for a couple days.

I wished it has USB-C ports instead of USB-A which is almost obsolete

And get ready for PGE to squeeze us even harder. That 13 percent increase in January is going to hurt. They are talking about even more increases as well, and an additional fixed fee dependent on income.

I have this and it works great as my battery charging center for my variety of power tools. I have 12V Bosch, 56V Ego, 18V Makita, and 18V Ryobi all on this and turn on each charger on a timer.

I only wish Kasa was leaning towards Matter but it looks like only the Tapo brand of Tp-link will be Matter so I don't plan on buying more smart devices for a while.
For me, I wish all Matter devices supported the lower Thread 915 MHz frequency bands (in the US) to keep the 2450 MHz bands less congested..

Can it tell you how much wattage each individual port is pulling?

Will this be suitable to run 4 3d printers consuming 350W each ? I want to control the printers if they start failing on a print. Will this strip provide enough power and protection?

Yes. You'll get today's current and total consumption, past 7 days average and total consumption, and past 30 days average and total consumption.

I have some of the newer matter single plugs and they have better graphs in my opinion and data goes out a year.
