Just an FYI, tempered glass desks have a high risk of breaking.

Now, that's not to say it will and you might be thinking the price is worth the risk.

But let me tell you from experience. Cleaning up 100,000 tiny pieces of tempered glass just one single time is enough for me to never get glass furniture again in my life
I disagree that the maintenance of glass has more downside. Maybe you can explain your logic.

Wood has to be conditioned; glass doesn't give a shit if you leave it in the sun or humid storage for years.

Wood can get a water spot from condensation on drink; glass doesn't care.

Wood (most wood desks are made of) has to be sealed or oiled to close the pores. Glass is permanently sealed.

Wood scratches easily; glass does not.

You've got to move? Wood is less likely to pack flat, and disassembly often results in at least minor issues. Metal and glass can come apart and be reassembled dozens of times. The metal part feels nearly weightless, and the pane of glass is very easy to carry.

The only issue I ever had is a weld breaking on that lower crossbar, but I would rest my feet on that, so that's on me. I just welded it back with lots of wire to form gussets. It will never break again.
I've had a similar desk since back around 2005. It had a little riser for a monitor made of tempered glass. It is probably 12" x 18". I set an old high end CRT monitor on it for years. It probably weighed 60lbs. Then I'd load down the table top with keyboard, mouse, books, and project stuff. It had no issues at all supporting the weight.

Tempered glass is stronger than most people think. It can even bend a bit without fracture. It just doesn't like sharp edges or dynamic loads.

Make sure to put a good mat on this, you don't want more risk on that glass breaking, plus mice will go crazy trying to track properly on the glass surface.

I agree. I've not owned glass furniture since the 90's. Has glass technology advanced so much since? There's more downside in owning/maintaining glass furniture than made from other materials (wood, fiberglass, resin, etc).

Deal worked for me. I'm in for one, I'll put a large mat down on the top to prevent breakage. Reviewers seem to like it and it could be great for my small space.

Agree, exaggerated. I have had an L-shaped desk from Z-Line since early 2006 and it's still not broken. This very specific one I purchased last year for about double the price and it's still not cracked. Also have another glass desk from 2015 from Office Max and it's still not shattered.
