This is like needing more space for a family vacation so you buy a minivan only to return it when you get back. You don't like them but apparently like them enough to use them for the purpose you bought them in the first place?

Abuse of return policies is why the good ones are slowly going away.

These are popping up on several houses in my neighborhood. If you can, try to see them in person before you commit to putting these on your house. It's a much different look than traditional Christmas lights. Personally, I don't like it, but if you love it, great! Even so, I would wait a year before I pulled the trigger. I'm curious how these things are going to look after 12 months of cold, heat, wind, and rain.

Except they're out of stock for pickup and shipping. So it doesn't matter if they're cheaper, if they aren't available.

Saw an ad on facebook for outdoor, IP65 water resistance LED strip lights, 3 x 65ft strands for $108.99. PayPal accepted. Shipped out of Singapore apparently.
Do not buy these from any facebook or twitter ads. I got fairy lights! Had to file a claim with PayPal.

When people install these, do they just generally decorate the front of the house with lights, with nothing on the sides and back of the house?

These lights are fantastic so far, have had so many compliments from friends and neighbors. I will say to do some careful planning ahead of time, especially if you have limited outdoor outlets. I ended up running an extension cord around the house from front left corner to back center for now, planning to install an outlet in the spring to ditch the extension cord. I like that they give you plenty of length to work with from the module / plug to where your lights start.

Have had up about 3 weeks so far and no issues, will see how these suckers hold over the Michigan weather changes. Worst case I buy more clips or find a way to glue them in place 🤷 ♂️

The eufy ones are on sale for $230 if you want dedicated soft white lights as well. I installed them a couple weeks ago and we like them a lot.

They look great initially but I am afraid that eventually too many neighbors will have the same and will lose it's appeal - just like the projection mini laser light. At least those laser lights were cheaper and easy to pull out of ground.

Pricey. I use icycle led style cmas lights all around the front of my house and it only take 30 minutes to hang and put away. Been using same light for 5 years now. To each his own I say.

Have these....vhb sticks but u must screw in clips to soffitt every 2 to 3 lights. Had one become detached (probably my own fault rushing thru install) but added new vhb and screw + clip and good as new now. No complaints - have had strangers knock on door asking about the lights ha (most think a pro did the job)
So my understanding was that you needed to have a professional install them, because somehow they had to be hard-wired or something. Is that not true?

Disregard. I looked at the many photos on Amazon (facepalm).

I bought them the other week at $200, put them up and I am not a huge fan, they are coming down on the 26th and getting returned.

Not true at all....I added one outlet in attic but was very easy to do myself. I have 3 hubs and 300 feet around whole house. Very much a DIY project and I have 30 foot roofline ( I did rent a boom lift since roofline so high but brother house was 20 foot roofline and we did with ext ladder)

I purchased these a little over a month ago. I highly recommend using these (thanks to whoever mentioned these in the previous thread): LED Strip Light Self-Adhesive Mounting Brackets and Clips,LED Strip Light Holder,Cable Wires Organizer Clips for Vehicle,Cabinet,Under-Counter, Indoor,Outdoor (Clear 100PACK With 100Screws) https://a.co/d/jleizgX

I used a full pack of these on the 100ft for good measure. So far so good. Time will tell.

It all depends on the house. I like to do one corner to another corner of the roof and only have lights seen from the street. another buddy as a corner house and the street is on the front and left side of the house so he has lights on those sides. don't see a reason to have them on the side or back unless the street can see them.
I notice a lot of people hang them poorly due to their skillset. Then there are some that hang them perfectly like a professional or commercial setting. also set these on IoT vlan if you must.
