I hope not. Abusers of Costco's generous returns be ruining it for the rest of us.
The lower prices did not include AppleCare+, if you value that sort of thing.
Also the deepest discounts were on the Lightning version, which is not the same.
Technically, yes (but minimal). So far, the only difference that has been confirmed is that the USB-C version will support lossless audio (20 bit/48 khz) with the upcoming Apple Vision Pro (while the lightning version will not support lossless). Here's a link for source[theverge.com] info.
It's unclear whether there's any physical difference in components, or if it's simply a software lockdown by Apple. Aside from the lossless issue, the USB-C versions also have dust proofing that the lightning version doesn't offer (IP54 rating instead of IPX4) & are capable of reverse charging USB-C devices (like the iPhone 15) though the batteries are so small I think that's pretty limited in value.
USB-C is of course more universally supported and future proof as well now that lightning is essentially going extinct, but the average lifespan for most AirPods is probably in the 2-3 years so also probably not a huge issue for the current generation of devices. To be clear, not saying they can't or won't last longer (I have a pair of AirPods from 2020 that are still working perfectly fine, aside from reduced battery life), but the batteries are so tiny on these that I think most people likely end up replacing them for something newer / better within that window.

Picked these up at Costco because of the Apple care+ benefit. Not sure if I'll keep it since I grabbed them from Target at same price but with 5% discover cash back.
I guess it comes down to whether I value the Apple care at greater than $10. The $29 repair:replacement fee with Apple care is making me lean towards keeping the Target one. FWIW I've had the gen 1 AirPods for 2 years with no issue
The great thing abt this model is noise cancelling….. i literally understood how exactly noise cancelling works after using these… got these for $155 from taget with price match….and puchased apple $25 gc from amazon for $15 with doscpver offer… final price with apple care was 170+tax that i spent for this

Replacing an individual costs about 60 dollars. I think it's close to worth it if you have any issues, like it going through the wash, or getting too gross to charge.

Sounds like a hassle to even worry about the difference between the two deals. Keep the apple care, the price difference is negligible.
AirPods Pro with usb-C charging case, with Applecare included ($29) value making it a better deal than most previously posted deals. Free shipping, Deal expires 12/25

For anyone wondering: Apple care + will be activated for the AirPods automatically, you can check the coverage date on your phone - settings -Airpods when the AirPods are connected to your phone
