Mazda is having a hard time moving inventory. I bought a new CX-5 Signature at the peak of the pandemic shortages with 0.9% financing and $1000 below MSRP.

I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.

What exactly makes a car sold in 2023 dated? If it keeps costs low, I'd rather they didn't add a bunch of expensive and unnecessary modern bells and whistles to cars these days. Aside from safety options that actually affect crash performance, there isn't much added to cars these days that's not just a bunch of added fluff, and the turbo trend is actually bad for motor reliability.
It's 6 years in so at the end of its lifecycle and in consideration to be discontinued. I think it likely will be. Totally agree re: everything else. My hybrid SUV has a small turbo and I already know it will be an additional cost inflating TCO at some point.

Ahh, gotcha. I guess I don't mind buying the late model cars, but usually because I'd be buying them as they're getting discounted to make room for the newer models replacing them.

did you buy during the used car explosion 1-2 years ago? If so, you got fair market value, if you bought recently, you overpaid a bit

i brought my 2021 cx5 touring in 2021 Apr for 30k OTD, so i would not say 24k is super bad price for it, i know someone who brought same time 2020 for like 27.5 OTD.

2021 was probably the height of the used car market, things were insane with product shortages, chip supply, etc etc. Used cars were fetching new car prices cause new cars weren't available. Things have drastically started to swing the other way again, for the better i'd say

Curious why they never seem to have these offers for CX9. I'm assuming they're more popular?
Because they don't make the CX-9 anymore.

I might be missing something here but title shows 28.8 and yours 35.7. Is this because you did not get base? Just very strange posting title.

Quote from NowItsTime :
If you want electric you can get a Tesla model y for not much more than this after federal and state rebates. They have inventory available for about $41k pre taxes. Then $7500 back in fed tax rebates (if you made over $65k ish) plus whatever state rebates you have. My state has $2k
As long as electric works for people. If you rent a home with no charger, apartments, condo, etc. That kind of kills the deal. Buy yeah base Y are stupid cheap after rebate.
