Are car prices back to normal?
Depends on what you want.

Electrics are sitting on lots. If you want one of those and you see them stacked high, you're in the driver's seat. Play hardball. Many dealers are crying over them. Every month on the lot is another payment on their floor plan and a lost opportunity to bring in something more profitable like a used car.

Anything that comes with limited allocations still seems pretty high. Big trucks around here are still stupid expensive. I've seen some things with a $40k bump but now they're starting to sit longer. Seems that market is softening up, too.

I've gotten some deals for my work fleet but the local dealers are still trying to get idiot prices. So I've cast my net wider. Last car I bought I got under MSRP but I had to drive 3 hours to get it. Best offer I got locally was $5k over sticker and that was from a place I used to buy a few cars a year from. So much for loyalty.

Speaking of electrics...is there like a market to sell reservations? I got called up to choose my Hummer the other day. I really don't want to buy one, but maybe people like to cut in line?

The older i get it seems Mazda is getting outdated. They better try something new soon can't see them lasting 20 more years if they don't adapt. Either way Im happy with my Toyota. Don't see any other brand that comes close to Toyota, maybe Honda but not good enough.
If you think Mazda doesn't age well, have you looked at Subaru? LMAO

I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.
Well the gas mileage is fantastic if you dont drive it like a Cayenne Smilie
(but what is the fun in that?)

Outdated? Toyota is outdated lol. Look at how long the 5th generation 4Runner has been manufactured for. 14 years with a 5-speed transmission.

Mazda reliability has been really good the past 9 years or so.

Oil changes are easily $80 at the dealership, so it's more than a few bucks Smilie
They're like $20 at my house. Takes me about 30 minutes.

So outdated that Toyota has bought a portion of Mazda to get access to their technology, and also uses their assembly plant in Alabama.

Mazda is a niche brand. Their driver engagement ethos is real. Its not for people who want a transportation appliance. Stick to a Toyota for that.

A very good deal indeed, when I took last year they were only giving 0% for 3 years , I took 5 years for around 3% ...A very fun car to drive , great looks , amazing handling, very less cabin Noise but keep in mind fuel economy will be bad , newer ones also have Touch screen for Apple car play / Android auto compared to their knob based system which is still fine. So far 11k miles in last 8 months I love this car, Also I drove a Cx50.. but CX5 is more comfortable than Cx50

They had 0% for 36 months + 10% MSRP when closing out CX-9s this spring… And CX-90s are trending in the same direction, since they are having trouble moving them.
There is so much CX-90 demand that Mazda delayed the CX-70 until next year so they could produce more CX-90s
My local dealer hasnt been able to keep more than 3 or 4 at any given time on the lot, and the PHEV moves even faster.
Great car, getting rave reviews all around.

On the one hand I wanted them to sell slow so I could get one for a good deal, but on the other hand Im happy that its a success. The RWD architecture and I6 engine were a big gamble for Mazda.

Right? I hope this guy is joking… Toyota makes the most outdated cars on the road.

Any advice on what trim and best for below MSRP discount

searched if refresh coming too and found Mazda going to update the CX-5?

There will be another generation of the top-selling Mazda CX-5 family SUV – but it is not due in showrooms until 2025 at the earliest. no

Own a Mazda CX5 and absolutely love it! Smilie
Mine was mostly good. No issues whosoever during my 6.5 years of ownership. Except steering wheel was too damn stiff, cabin was too loud, and wiper was absolutely terrible. I think they fixed most issues in latest cars because my friend's latest cx5 was certainly better. Oh right, the service center near my house was also bad but of course it'd be different for you.
