Mazda is having a hard time moving inventory. I bought a new CX-5 Signature at the peak of the pandemic shortages with 0.9% financing and $1000 below MSRP.

I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.

One thing i've learned in life is, once you make a large purchase, like a house or car, etc. Just stop looking and researching, you'll only be disappointed

I dont understand the point of buying these new. You can get a clean, recent low mileage used for thousands less, and these hold up, so the few extra miles aren't going to mean much.
Unless you are paying cash, the financing here is worth thousands. This is around what we bought our CX-9 for 12 years ago, with 0%. Was a considerable savings and why we went with Mazda over Subaru at the time.

I've heard people being able to sell their car after least for some money where it was equivalent if not even cheaper than if they had purchased a car. Was this your experience at all BD75? If so, could you share numbers? Thank you.

An even better reason to consider it a compact SUV is that it is a compact SUV.
According to Wikipedia, "The Mazda CX-5 is a compact crossover SUV[1] produced by Mazda since 2012. [wikipedia.org]"

No. Their Turbo is good for 227 hp and 310 lb-ft if you stick with 87-octane fuel or 256 hp and 320 lb-ft on 93-octane fuel.

Though I loved the unmatched build quality of Mazda, I found from experience that their resale value is low compared to other manufacturers. I had a tough time selling my Mazda 6 as not many very interested. Had to sell to a dealer with considerable amount of depreciation.

If you're like me and change the car every 3-4 years, the low interest rate will offset the higher depreciation but doesn't save you a lot.

I paid off my 2017 CX5 last year with 60 month 0 APR financing.. Amazing vehicle for the price! It's unbelievable that there exists 0% APR again.

2021 was probably the height of the used car market, things were insane with product shortages, chip supply, etc etc. Used cars were fetching new car prices cause new cars weren't available. Things have drastically started to swing the other way again, for the better i'd say
And now used car inventory is WAY higher than it was pre Covid.

Glad, they're having a hard time. Mo as t of these dealers were screwing us over during the pandemic. Especially, Mazda, Chevy, Toyota , Honda and Nissan just to name a few.

I would argue the deal is 0% apr. The worker there didn't even know about it, bought it during black Friday and was stuck with 4% APR which can easily translate to a few extra hundred monthly
I used to believe that argument about used cars. But in the end, you're not saving that much.

Let's say you buy this new at $30k. 3 years later, you sell it for $20k. Cost you $10k.

The alternative is to buy a 3 year old car at $20k. And then sell it in 3 years for $14k. So it cost you $6k. Not exactly a mind-blowing amount of savings.

And you have to deal with someone else's farts and decal matter embedded in the seats, and their nose pickings on the carpets. I'd rather work harder and get new.

Unless you're buying a super premium car that has massive early depreciation (Rolls Royce or Ferrari) or you're buying a 7 year old+ car that already has about 60% of its value depreciated.

You left out the part where if you go used, you have an extra 10k in your pocket to invest for 3 years. Plus all the dealership fees you save by getting a used car. You can even skip the (frankly unfair) used-car sales tax if you buy from a private individual.

Oof, Mazda is wayyyyyy better ride, drive, quiet interior, better tech, the list goes on. Subaru has gotten better, but Mazda still blows them out of the water right now.
Not trying to argue, but I recently test drove both and to hey are very different. I found the Subaru to be potentially quieter and have a softer suspension. The Mazda seems stiffer and more sporty. The Subaru had way more space/more pragmatic where the Mazda was sleeker/sexier. Guess it's kind of preference, but I don't think I'd consider the ride on the Mazda quieter or smoother. Also, yeah, Subaru needs to fix their screen, that thing is pretty terrible.
