Mazda is having a hard time moving inventory. I bought a new CX-5 Signature at the peak of the pandemic shortages with 0.9% financing and $1000 below MSRP.

I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.

Ford Recalls Almost 400,000 Trucks Over Trailer Brake Software Issue

You can stop looking so foolish now.
"Over-the-air (OTA) updates are becoming more common as new vehicles increasingly feature built-in wireless connections. Ford, Mercedes Benz, Tesla, and GM have used OTA updates to address product recalls. With so many automakers now sending OTA updates, isn't it time to replace our tendency to focus on the negative connotations associated with a "recall?" Recall no more! Why don't automakers simply say a NHTSA-approved update will take place?"

The only reason this dinosaur government entity uses the term recall, is because they haven't bothered to make a new term. OTA software updates are new. They didn't exist until recently, and that's why NHTSA uses that outdated term. Give the dinosaurs a few more years and they'll finally figure it out.

Own a Mazda CX5 and absolutely love it!
We got a CX-9. Mazdas seem to punch WAY above their weight class.

Who cares about grand total? Price before tax, title, license and doc fees is what matters most to compare apples to apples.

Pre-COVID, CX-5's were easily had at 17-18% under MSRP, where Invoice used to be but no longer is. It doesn't mean the dealers are paying more than their vehicles. It's a game all manufacturers have played, increasing the Invoice price up and up over time, Mazda included.

I have no idea what people pay nowadays but the CX-5 is on its way out and dated, no matter the strong package that it is. We passed and bought a hybrid and we have a 2015 6 that was 18.3% off MSRP with good negotiation in a large market and a lot of dealers trying to play ball. Mazda has drug its feet and invested in stupid areas that haven't materialized and not invested in ones it should have (hybridization). We'll likely never buy Mazda again now that they are trying to move upmarket but I do not believe they will be around 10 years from now. They'll try to play the closer-to game and outprice themselves.
Love that Mazda developed a new six cylinder engine and rear drive drivetrain, when everyone else is developing EVs and throwing ICE cars to the curb.

The new CX70 with RWD and inline six will be awesome.

It's just too bad they didn't make any of their cars a Hybrid or EV.

Pretty much anything you want to name lol. The Japanese have become so good at designing and manufacturing ICE cars, that they've been reluctant to go EV, and it shows tremendously in their EV products. They are an ICE design retrofitted with EV components. Absolutely atrocious engineering.

Negotiate.. Daughter bought a 24 S Select in September with no dealer add on crap.. $29,550 which was 1700 under Msrp. That works out to be about 900 under the "invoice" which is just a bogus number these days anyway.

Got wife a 24 Forester last month at invoice. Have to say, overall we both like the Forester better than the CX-5. But the CX-5's heated seats actually heat up lumbar area which I wish all heated seats did.

Rented a BMW X5 last week for a couple days in AZ. Nothing compares to that baby. But with a $70k price tag, Id rather buy a CX-5 and Forester and have money for gas left over.. lol
Cx5 is a smaller vehicle than x5 by a full category and is 2x+ the price. What are you talking about?

Was just going to comment about the fuel economy. Though I do drive with MPG in mind 90% of the time and it's manual it's 2003 accord V6 with 240k and I average 20-24 MPG city/highway

But really what is the out the door price? You'd be lucky with all the dealer fees and markups to get this around $30k
