I asked for free weather mats and got it at the end
Might be worth asking for a few extra free oil change coupons as well
I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.

My mom liked the crossover so she went and bought a CX-5 in 2020. The sticker price was cheaper though she ended up paying more out the door, she did either get 0.0% or 0.9%.
I have no problems with the Jeep, that said the CX-5 is an unequivocally nicer vehicle. Mazdas drive so well you can tell they put more focus on that then say 12 inch touch screens or android auto. I would put it easily above the Rav4, Rogue and CR V as well, all of which I've spent some time in.

Over past painful 6 months, I was helping daughter and wife get into a new smallish SUV. Test drove everything! Numerous times. From my research, I did all the swaying to them as far as brands based on reliability and also depreciation. Both plan on keeping 5 to 7 years.
So in the end, they narrowed it down to Subaru and Mazda.
I really pushed Toyota, but only the Rav4 Hybrid. After reading about a cable corrosion issue and the poor fix/response from Toyota, I advised against it.
Myself, I drive a 22 Camry. But come next year, I'm thinking bout a CX-5. I want to keep whatever I get for myself for 10 years, and I really like the fact that Mazda still puts a 6 speed transmission in.
I still don't trust CVT long term.
Eyes down at all times 😉
Now when I look around things are much better and if you keep shopping around you'll find places that are selling at MSRP, maybe $500 off, maybe a mandatory package add on that's $900-2k (like the Subaru near me that actually includes nicer things and not $200 for nitrogen filled tires), and even great financing rates that many lenders can't beat if you plan on financing a vehicle. Obviously in demand vehicles like a Toyota Grand Highlander, Ford Maverick, GR Corolla, Prius, and so forth will still have pretty crazy markups, but for the most part many dealerships have started having "normal" prices again or the markups aren't as egregious.
