Mazda is having a hard time moving inventory. I bought a new CX-5 Signature at the peak of the pandemic shortages with 0.9% financing and $1000 below MSRP.

I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.

Total Price of Car (This probably where your bread and butter is in terms of where you can negotiate) $35,735.00

One thing i've learned in life is, once you make a large purchase, like a house or car, etc. Just stop looking and researching, you'll only be disappointed

I'd argue that the majority of CUVs/SUVs NEVER leaves the pavement.
absolutely true. Specially when it comes to one that don't have the engine to go offroad to begin with.

Thanks. That's the thing. Interest rates are stupid high right now in New vehicles 6%+ (thanks Joe) so I look at amortizatio of the whole loan.
Interest rates are on the low side where there should be..... 0% fed rate means economy is on life support and causes asset class inflation ie real estate, vehicles, collectibles.

I leased one of these. While it was reliable, it was not sporty as they made it out to be. The infotainment was hackable with Mazdatweakz to make it better. But it was pretty generic and boring otherwise.

This is the beginning of deflation. When all of the inflation from 2 years ago reached it's peak and too much supply now and high interest rates have most people being unable to afford stuff. It's not unheard of to see people with Credit card rates has high as 30%.

True but this car is 0% so it really don't matter. Paying with cash means nothing

I'm currently looking at purchasing a cx-5, took a test drive today. I bought a crv in 2014 but really thought the cx-5 in 2014 was the better looking and better driving vehicle. The crv had better leg room and more space in general. Today my family size has gotten smaller and will be purchasing a cx-5 this month.

In 2014, I bought a CRV EXL, sticker price 30k, I paid 26k out the door. Tax title everything with 0.9%.

In 2015, I negotiated my sisters RAV4 mid trim, 29k sticker for 27k out the door, no financing.

In 2016, I bought my daughter's jeep renegade (horrible vehicle but she wanted jeep), it was 29k anniversary edition, paid 26k out the door. It came with 0% financing.

This time my wife is looking at the cx-5 carbon edition 32k, I'm hoping to get it at 29k out the door 🤞.

My advice on buying car. Always let the negotiations go till the end of the month. Never talk avout monthly payment, negotiate the out the door total price. Don't be afraid to walk away.

Remember that every 6k that you finance is $100 a month, when financing for 60 months @ 0%. So if you finance $18k, your monthly should be $300 for 60 months. Make sure your monthly payment is correct. They've tried to give me a higher monthly at all the dealerships I've been to, since the majority of Americans are bad at math.

When you say 29k out the door, it includes everything including taxes, title and registration? I am asking becoz even mazda website has MSRP as 33k for carbon edition

Lots of car buyers here. And 0%%. And the reds say the economy is in shambles.
And Blues will say this fact is not true because CNN didn't report it.

Forbes 10/25/23

"Borrowers are falling behind on car loan payments at the highest rate in 27 years"

And the automakers lending division are eating the 0% lending rates at a loss. Evidence things are softening up. Normally there would be an option for a cash rebate or cheap / 0% financing. Those cash rebates will be kicking in next.

I got a 2019 CX-5 and a 2020 Mazda 6 and I must say they have been great driving and reliable. Made in Japan does make a difference, The newer Hondas and Subarus have more issues and recalls.

Just bought a 2024 CX-5 Turbo. 0% for 60 months was a Hugh factor in our decision. Not all dealer are willing to go below MSRP, so look around. We were able to get the car fro $3K under MSPR. Classic Mazda, Orlando

Not all dealer are willing to go below MSRP, so look around. Look for the dealer that provide their internet price. We found a couple in our area that offered good pricing (Below MSRP) just from clicking "get our best price". We were able to get a CX-5 for $3K under MSPR with no stupid fees.

I dont understand the point of buying these new. You can get a clean, recent low mileage used for thousands less, and these hold up, so the few extra miles aren't going to mean much.

I was going to buy the new cx5 but settled for a used certified MDX, need space and v6. If I didn't have 2 kids, I'd jump on this cx5 deal for sure. Never had a Mazda but I hear they are fun little rides even for fwd.
