Sorta! The 3.6 stars is kinda hurting it. I went with the short throw for the same price 🤷

2,900 Led Lumens is about 1,200 ANSI Lumens. Not very good for rooms with ambient light.

Also, there's no mention of their Rec2020 color accuracy

What a load of bull. I understand there are technical reasons why LED Lumens could be a valid measurement but omitting ANSI lumens in place of LED Lumens seems predatory

Meanwhile the average layman is worried about 4k for everything when he has no chance of seeing a difference

I'll say that it probably depends. My own projector experience is limited to two "real" projectors in that they are both DLP, but one is LED lit and the other is a bulb. The first one is an Acer K137 that has 700 ANSI Lumens of brightness. This is a small projector - probably the size of a trade paperback. It is a standard throw, so needs about 12ft of distance to get a 110" picture.

The second one is a BenQ HT1085ST with 2200 ANSI lumens of brightness. This one has a standard projector bulb, but is a short throw, so it only needs to be about 5 feet away from the screen to do a 110" picture.

Both of these projectors have very little brightness difference in actual use to my eyes. The Acer, while being a 720P projector vs 1080P for the BenQ, has significantly better color quality as well - it is just more vibrant and attractive.

I can't tell you how many foot lamberts of light that the Acer is actually putting out on the screen compared to the BenQ though. But there is definitely something to LED lighting appearing brighter than the numbers would say that it should.

Also here is a random Redditor's review of this projector:
