For those considering this I have had a 1.0 version for over 2 years and have been happy with how it performs but it will only look pretty for the first few months if that. Within few months inside developed rust on the surface. Expected more from the "stainless steel" and premium price of this fire pit. It's still holding together and we do use it quite a bit but I am not sure if I would purchase it again especially since there are a lot of copycats out there which are cheaper.

Do you live on/near the ocean?

I've had mine for 2 years and left out in the rain, snow etc. It has heat discoloring, yes but no rust.

Same for me - no rust but yes heat discoloration.......but we bought the lid and are good about putting that on after use (not sure if that affected our results)
