2 issues we had so far, one is after a couple of years it started to drip when it's at the On position. 2nd is it would get stuck once in a while (nothing comes out of the nozzle or very slow), we found out that there is a little spring in the mechanism (hard to explain here) needs to be cleaned and stretched (found that solution on YT). Otherwise it's been great for our use.
De'Longhi isn't a no name Chinese brand. It's a well known and popular Italian brand.

For a finer grind there is a hack to remove the tab that limits the choices for grind fineness.
Search the Amazon reviews for the word: tab
Look for J.J.'s review and tutorial from 4/25/2014.
I have the older version of this machine and I do love it.
Here is the link for Sam's club: https://www.samsclub.co
Looks like the Sam's club variant is mainly plastic and is "cheaper". The 3630 uses more metal and has a new steam wand.

Anyone have any feedback on whether it's better to buy an espresso machine like a Breville Barista with an integrated grinder vs separate units, i.e. an espresso machine like this with a higher end grinder on the side?
I have had the machine in this slick deal for a year or so and it got me into the rabbit hole. Being manual it works pretty good however the steam wand is junk. The metal sleeve makes the milk Foam have way too many big bubbles. The wand is easy enough to swap there are many youtube videos on it.
The metal basket it comes with for the portafilter (the handle that holds the basket) is designed for coarser grinds.
It works ok for entry level learning but you can buy unpressurized baskets that have a bunch of holes vs a single hold underneath.
I modified the heck out of my machine the black and silver version ecp3420 and made a few youtube videos on it.

Pressure profiling.
I also built an arduino powered gaggia called a gaggiuino and it was pretty fun.
Eventually I got lazy and bought a superautomatic and never looked back. The convenience ruined the manual steps for me.
Anyway the ecp machine will always have a special place as it was a fantastic machine.

As mentioned above, all of these models come stock with pressurized baskets. This means you can use ground coffee from the grocery and get a low quality espresso with good looking crema. No grinder needed, or you can use cheap grinders for filter coffee. Also comes with basket for ESE pods. Milk steamer/frother is marginal- the auto frother introduces too much air. But pull down on the chrome part to pull it off and put a zip tie around the top of the black rubber tip left and it makes good latte quality micro foam.
You can turn it into a true espresso machine by buying a bottomless non pressurized portafilter on Amazon (low $20's) or cutting off the bottom of the stock one and just buy a non pressurized basket. That's what I did with a 18-20g double shot precision basket under $20 on Amazon. You will need a espresso grinder if you do this. Cheapest acceptable electric grinders that go fine enough for espresso with small adjustment steps start in low $200 range. I got a manual KinGrinder K4 for $90 and it does a great job. You do have to go through a dialing in process with each new batch of beans: adjusting the grind, the quantity of liquid out and the time. You will need a cheap $15 scale that measures to 0.1 grams with built in timer.
If you want to see these mods and the high quality of espresso and latte this machine can make check out Tom's Coffee Corner on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a...YLr
It will take a little effort reading about coffee if you don't want to waste money.
I say this as a former barista who has an encore Eureka at home. Combined with my $300 Breville Bambino Plus it is on the level of a much higher end setup.
Edit: For anyone considering the Bambino Plus, do yourself a favor and get the cheaper non-plus and learn how to steam milk manually. It's trivial to learn, you will get much better results than the plus, and you will save a nice chunk of change.
Edit2: This assumes you use a non pressurized setup as described in the above post.
