You'll be waiting for a long time. I was waiting for an ampro II HSS stratocaster in dark night for 2 years to drop below $1200. I eventually bought one on Reverb in like-new condition for $1340, tax and shipping included. The other HSS colors drop under 1200 often, but the dark night version almost never does for some reason.

lol I bought a maple dark night a couple weeks ago when Miami guitars had it on sale, then got the rosewood last week because it's what I really wanted

But then it turned out I actually liked how the maple felt better. So I'm keeping both, the maple is gonna stay SSS, the rosewood got an HSS loaded pickguard and drop tuned

Now to pester adorama to refund me $100 for this new sale price — for anyone who ordered this at $1199, adorama will refund you $100 if you ask.

Deal still going this morning and I just couldn't resist any longer.

BTW, I did a chat with guitar center just to see if they would price match and they said they couldn't because this was less than what the guitar cost them.

Musician's Friend (Guitar Center's sister store) just refused to price match $1099 saying it was below their cost. They did price match it for me last week at the $1199 price, but then afterward I noticed in my order that they were going to send me a store display/blemished model. I cancelled. So be on the lookout for that.

I have bought quite a few of these Adorama slick deals. 3 out of 5 of them were clearly either returns or blems. I did get the ultra luxe Strat for $1749 last year and that guitar was PERFECT along with an American pro in 2019. My mercury am pro ii Strat had a tiny nick in the back of the neck (wasn't that noticeable so I kept it), and two am pro ii dk night teles each had finish issues (returned one). I'm considering grabbing this because I stupidly traded away all my Strats. These deals always have to be right before Xmas!

Yep, same here. 15% off is the best Guitar Center would do. So I bought another Gibson Les Paul. Might still get this one.

This dark night beauty arrived yesterday. It came in a factory sealed box from Fender. Not a single complaint about its condition and it looks much better in person. I would definitely buy again from Adorama.

I've always thought it would make more sense to offer these with an ebony fretboard. Well, I got mine today and it's the darkest rosewood board I've ever seen. Looks fantastic. Perfect, new condition.
