I've been waiting on a non-green color. The humbuckers and p90s on these streamliners are a bit muddy but besides that the guitar is great

I love a hollow body with a whammy bar, even if it is absurdly large!

The streamliner series guitars come with humbuckers or p90s. This one has humbuckers. My other one has p90s.
Do you need a link to one with p90s?
This one is also on sale:

For what it's worth, the color is not walnut. It's straight-up dark red (I have it). I don't know why they call it walnut!

I got the P90 version myself and love it. Did have to adjust the truss rod, though. I play with my fingers more than with a pick, and the pickups sound completely different depending on how you play. Much more distinct compared to my Epiphone Dot Studio.

With fingerpicking, it is noticeably darker/warmer than with the humbucker version I played at guitar center. I like the way the pickups sound with a pick too and you can make a TON of adjustments with the two separate volume knobs per pickup.

That said, the humbucker version plays more clearly and less amp noise. I don't use much distortion, but the P90 pickups just sound warmer to me and fit my style more. If the humbuckers are more to your style, I say go with it. What one guitarist loves another may not, there is no right or wrong answer for guitar tone with pickups. Go with what sounds good to your ear and feels good in your hands. Definitely try before you buy at a guitar shop if possible.

Been seeing a lot of cheap Gretsch guitars on here when back in the day they used to be super high priced. Did they introduce a lower-end line or did they sell the brand name to a company with lower quality?

I've noticed that the iconian (staff) posts for these Gretsch guitars are actually promotional pricing links. You can't easily find the discounted pricing if you just do a Google search for "Adorama G2655T." Makes me think there's some fishy arrangement with SD.

Hmm, that's funny. I bought the green one, and it was the color specifically that made me pull the trigger. Different strokes, eh? Smilie

Don't get me wrong, the green was tempting too! I just prefer natural finishes.
I'll probably make some new pickups for mine as I'd prefer some Trons, the stock pickups are more like a hot paf.
