In some ways it is a higher end model but then if Dirac is what you're looking at then the denon (or onkyo or pioneer or integra)

Yes it does. They have a few differences like this has 25 more watts.
On the other hand the 4800 now offers a premium room correction(added purchase) of both Dirac Live and Dirac Live Bass Control.
These were only available on higher end products until recently.

Pioneer and Onkyo only offers Dirac Live on their models included in their price but they have no option for DLBC.
They did change that with the models just recently released(added purchase also).

A fine AVR but needs to come down 2-300 more, just like the others. I have it's little brother A4A.

With new a6a, you can get extend warranty from yamaha for free. So probably no.
