Wait for Blackwell (50-Series). Unless you jump to a 4090, it's not worth it performance wise from a 3080.

Pay the extra 100, get 7900 xtx with 24 gb of vram. No regrets. Card handles anything. Don't pay the nvidia tax. It's not worth it

4070 ti is a bit better than 3090. And 4080 is 25% faster. Both have newer frame generation cores and use lees power. It's still up to you if you want to spend money, lol. I doubt 3080 is struggling on any game now.
PCVR, my 3080 struggles to hit the needed 90fps for smooth gaming let alone 120fps that it supports. Playing dirt rally 2.0 in VR and it is comparable to low on a flatscreen with a 3080.

The cheapest 7900 xtx I see right now is above $950. That's a bit too expensive for me Frown.

Actually I'm glad the 4080 on this deal is out of stock. I would have bought it on impulse and then immediately regretted spending so much on a graphics card.

I have a microcenter 5 min away. Might as well go there and get the 7900 xt for $750. GPU deals have dried up recently. Everyone who was so confident that one should hold was proven incorrect. If anything prices have crept up in the last couple of months.

4080 Super will probably be at $1000 to compete with the 7900 XTX. That's the whole reason why they even came up with the Super, it would be counter intuitive to release it at the same $1200 price as the worst selling card of this generation from either team red or green to date.

The 4080 will fade out of existence once a cheaper and faster 4080 Super releases. At $899 it's probably worth a buy, something you can enjoy now but there's definitely something to look forward to in January, either further discounts or new hardware.
100% agree with this

Would you recommend waiting for the 4080super even with this reduced price?
Honestly what screen do you have... if you're gaming on a 2k 165hz monitor it's overkill to go past the 4070ti If you game at 4k does your monitor go above 60hz otherwise same issue. I got a oled 4k screen that does 120hz ain't no way I'm paying for a 4090 to barely hit 90 fps in AAA games or maybe hit 60fps with raytracing on(looking at you Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk). I'm good guys we all good the monitors and tvs outpaced the cards a while ago. Chill save your money it's really not that serious. Chilling with a 3080 12gb over here with money in my pocket.

No buy this now if you need it. Nvidia doesn't reduce prices

The 4080 supers will 999, but have been rumored to be only 5-8% faster than the original. You're not going to get a deal better than this until next BF, IMO. My only question is should I wait on a prettier card.

Definitely not. Not using downscaling is the real game changer. Dlss shines with weaker cards, not top end.

For $50 or so more and you can get a 7900 xtx with 24GB of RAM that blows this out of the water.

I think this will be a common deal soon. Everyone will need to dump 4080 stock at around $900 before or immediately after the 4080 Super launches at $1k.

DLSS shines on everything. It's so good that playing on "balanced" mode (which is rendered at several steps below 4K) is virtually indistinguishable from 4K once run through the upscaler. DLSS quality looks identical or in some cases better than native, while running at a much smoother frame rate. It's unbelievable how good it is.
