Unless they changed the hardware from the first release, this is an amazing deal. In the $30 range this beat out the hyperx solocast and fifine k669b I had bought during sales before this.

It's also twice the size so keep that in mind.

for reference, purchased mine for 27.96 and have had 0 issues for the year I've owned it.

I got this but realize I can't connect this to my iPhone to record audio. What camera would you suggest to connect to record podcasts/video content.

I picked up this, and the hyperx solocast, for $30 each from amazon this time last year. I ended up using the bigfoot because its gain meant I could put it further away and sound just as good if not better than the solocast. It also has its own mute button which is nice. The downside is that it's definitely much bigger and definitely much heavier.

Unless you're in a treated room with limited background noise, wouldn't a dynamic mic be preferable?

Have you tried a usb adapter? It works on my Pixel 7 using a usb c adapter. There's a good chance a lightning adapter would work as well.

Your iPhone needs to be "USB Power Supported" spec to use this mic, as it needs 5V USB power from your phone. A cheap USB hub with AC adapter might be the answer if your iPhone doesn't provide USB power via the Lightning port. In that case a hub should be able to charge your phone and power your microphone as you record.

Good deal. Grabbed one for some video voice over work I have to do soon.

Costs over $100 even recently on Amazon. PS it's $5 more on Amazon at the moment in case you don't like saving money/Woot for some reason.

Thx op.

It depends what you want. If you're picking up only voices then yes, a dynamic mic is preferable. However the flip side to that is that it needs to be very close to your mouth compared to a condenser mic. Maybe not a big deal, but if somebody is doing a video, say a streamer or podcast interview, then they might get too much of their face blocked by a dynamic mic.

Of course, this is broad stroke and depends on the person, voice, room, etc... but just saying that there's a lot to consider instead of just saying get this mic or that mic.
