They're gone for the 2 lower-spec versions of the 3 (because they use batteries from China). Remain in full for the Performance Model 3. (because they use batteries from Nevada)
They are unchanged on all trims of the Y. (because they also use batteries from Nevada)
You won't have to worry about it then either- they're all recycled. Quite profitably too.

I had a new Hyundai Kona, it was a fine vehicle other than a truly horrible dual clutch transmission. Engine worried me, was experiencing some odd stumbling and idle problems and other things that worried me that it was going to have more serious issues soon. Sold it at 20k. Replaced it with a Mazda 3. Mazda has been perfect so far, 50k in with zero issues and zero signs of future issues at this time.
Personally I would buy another Mazda, but would not get another Hyundai. (Owned a genesis by Hyundai too) The theft and insurance issues are certainly not helping either. Huge dealership quality improvement at Mazda for me too which was nice also.

2022 was a redesign year though so if you like touch buttons and gloss black for the AC/center controls, this could be a good car for you, but the gloss black touch buttons for the interior are a big turn off for me. Hate those.

Point is the demand is there, vs them not making enough or making more fav 4's
Pretty crazy number in sales compared to last year , but deservingly so the car is pretty pimp for a minivan

I've owned two, no major issues personally, but enough issues that I will not get another (maybe electric one, no engine issues there) one for now at least. I never hardly ever hear people say man that Mazda or Toyota was so bad I'm never getting another one ever. I have personally heard that from several coworkers and friends that had a Hyundai though.
Not saying don't get one, but do take the time to carefully research the specific model and engine you're getting should you choose to get one.
When I went from a Lexus IS350 to a Tesla Model 3 insurance cost was basically unchanged.
Likewise when Motortrend compared Tesla insurance costs to the most comparable BMW they found the costs were similar
https://www.motortrend.
In a number of their comparisons the Tesla was cheaper than the BMW to insure... and on both directions the difference was quite small for both 3 and Y.... the X was the only place with a really big difference (and it's somewhat famously the Faberge egg of EVs)

My gripe with Mazda is too large wheel rims, I'd prefer an inch or two smaller wheel for more rubber and better ride. Toyota is doing it too now, driving me nuts. Want the features of the top trims with the wheels of the base model lol. Replaced tires on my Mazda recently and was able to fit one size larger/taller tire on the wheel with no rubbing. Made a world of improvement in smoothness for me at least.
