To me these are kind of wasted money. For very young kids its too sluggish to be user friendly and also too large and heavy to wear on tiny wrists. Slightly older kids will quickly find this boring if they were already introduced to more advanced gadgetry. Just my 0.02 as a parent (have one collecting dust under a piece of furniture somewhere).

This product is not compatible with iOS, Android, and GPS functionality. 4+ year olds have phones?..... Some say it maybe opening up Pandoras box with that choice, lol its already blown open.

I got 2 of these a while ago for my kids. They're toys. Like someone else said, if they've ever had a phone or tablet before then these will be extremely boring for them after 3 minutes. They did like wearing them to school sometimes because they could take pictures and videos with their friends and stuff. Good little Christmas present for a 7 year old or less

Do you have a suggestion for an 8 yr old? Your concern is mine as well. I would rather get a Gabb watch but $13 a month with a two-year contract is not cool.

My kids each have one of these, I bought the first one about 7-8 years ago, and it's still working as of this week. My 10 year old daughter still uses it occasionally, as she has unrestricted use of this but very limited screen time on tablet/TV. There are downloadable apps you can add from the vtech website. They haven't updated it in the last 5 years, but they're still available.

If your kids have phones or tablets that they use regularly, they will not be interested in this.

My kids must not be as fortunate in their electronic use as most. My daughter loves it and still uses it on several occasions after 3 years. She is turning 9.

Same, with daughter going on 8. Not an all the time thing but it still gets use.

Our son had a Minecraft toy watch that is currently broken so he has been bugging us for another one. I have a cheapo smartwatch that I guess I could have 'gifted' him but saw this and pulled the trigger. Hopefully it's not *too* boring for him, otherwise maybe I'll just return it and give him the cheap smartwatch... the problem with that is that it doesn't have any games on it LOL
