Almost $1 a roll is preposterous. We've let them normalize overpriced toilet paper. A 4 roll of angel soft was $1. I get it, mark it up a little but $1 for ONE roll? Jesus.
And then someone will come 8m stating how angel soft is like sandpaper Yada Yada Yada. Tp is just waaaaaaaaaay overpriced, even these "mega"rolls
This isn't cheaper than Costco because the sheet size of Costco's Charmin rolls is 4.5"x4". Rolls from Amazon are 3.92"x4".
I always calculate TP deal value by price per square foot rather than per sheet for this reason.
Costco's current sale on Charmin Ultra Strong gives you 825 square feet for $24.19, which is 2.93 cents per square foot.
Amazon's current sale on the same gives you 316 square feet for $10.14 after $5 credit, which is 3.21 cents per square foot.
So Amazon is about 8.7% more expensive.
Agree but I always thought paper value is calculated in weight. Length is appropriate to compare if we think thickness is same and so the weight is same per area.
Costco roll is 990 inches long vs Amazon 948.6 inches with more number of sheets.
So you are saying 8.7% expensive but free shipping on Amazon with prime.
I think I am qualified now to apply for a position in charmin.

It's a ok deal.
Costco has 30 pack of Charmin typically at $22-23 when on sale, and it has 30 rolls at 805 square feet.
This is 12 rolls at (158*2) 316 square feet for 14.39 (after taxes), minus 5 promo = $9.39. At 805 square feet that would cost $23.91. So about the same, except:
1) You don't have to pick it up from Costco (and you don't have to wait for it to be on sale, and you don't have to be a Costco member)
2) But these rolls are probably really fat and don't fit well in some toilet paper holders.
As a general rule, deals posted assume you aren't qualifying for the 15% and instead qualify for the 5%. Something you should also keep in mind when you are looking at listed S&S prices on this site.
I agree, but the person I was responding to was referring specifically to the 15% S&S price compared to buying without S&S

Wouldn't this be a better deal per sheet? Though it is overkill for the $15 min
