Not to be the "ackshually" nerd here lol but they did make all 4 turtles in coats and hats like that. Actually they're some of the rarest tmnt figures from the 90s. I've owned almost every turtle figure from original to 1997 and I've never even seen one of those in person.
The 90s cartoon had them disguised this way at least once.
Just sharing some trivia not trying to be annoying haha.
Raphael is the only appropriate ninja turtle to be wearing that trench coat and hat
My childhood

Agree, but because the box art has the 1990 movie font as well as a screen shot from the movie as well as the text that says "inspired by the 1990 movie," the only turtle that was featured wearing a trenchcoat was Raphael. So the other commenter's argument is valid imo

Another nerd fact, they actually had Michaelangelo as the loaner at first. You can see its orange if you rewatch the movie as they just used the original shots. They changed it later which feels more appropriate. So if the toys were made beforehand, they had that design in place.

That's interesting! I guess they were originally thinking that Mikey wanted more social connection with the humans? I remember from the old TMNT rpg in the late 80s that Raph was listed as being the most likely to sneak out to see a movie or be amongst the crowds of NYC. I think he needed to get away from his brothers for a while, too.
