I was able to get it done. You have to call in to cancel your current account. The cancellation order takes less an hour to finalize. Once it's cancelled, your address will be eligible to sign up for a new account. You can use the same name and SSN, just create a new FiOS online account after you place your order.

Actual disconnection came in less than 5 minutes after my call with support ended. But the cancellation order was still shown as pending for around an hour I think? Once the cancellation order went through, FiOS released the address to be eligible for new service again. You just have to wait a little before you can sign up again. Otherwise, even if you select you're signing up for a second service, their system will block your new order as there's another order (cancellation) pending.

I'd say you can get the new service activated in about 40 minutes from the moment you hang up your phone with phone support for cancellation.

Hm, tempted, but my 300mbps plan is locked in at $40 and I don't need more than that. $400 for the Xbox + $200 Amazon GC + $100 Verizon GC = $700/$45 monthly increase (since I don't have a Verizon mobile plan) = if I stay on my plan for a little over a year, I would be saving the same amount of money. The 300mbps plan is now offered at $50.

This only makes sense if you need the speed upgrade and have their Mobile service for the discount.

That is called transfer of service with current hardware, they do not consider this as a new service so no promotion Frown I did and I lost my promotion a few months back.

I just tried doing it and I see the promos so far.. it says it will ship new equipment to me. I didn't do transfer of service but created a whole new account

For those that are planning to do this then reduce the plan after 180 days. How likely will Verizon not fark us and how likely will the 300Mbps plan $25/m plan still exist in June?

I have four lines on my account, my wife and I and my parents. We have an active 5G Home internet plan at our address, but want to sign my parents up for LTE home internet at their address to get the promotion. There shouldn't be an issue having two different home internet accounts on my Verizon account as long as they are associated with seprate numbers and addresses, correct?

More importantly, they would qualify for the 5G wireless discount of $35/month for having two lines? I just want to ensure that 1) I am eligible for the promotion by signing them up and 2) It will qualify for the 5G wireless discount of $35/month. TIA

I was able to sign up for $45/mo for the 5g home plus plan + xbox + $100 gc + $200 gc. $80 service -$25 for verizon wireless customer and -$10 for autopay/paperless. $45/mo for 6 months for all the goodies included is a no brainer.
