I'd say you can get the new service activated in about 40 minutes from the moment you hang up your phone with phone support for cancellation.

Edit: never mind I found it. It's in the Verizon app under Account, scroll down and you'll see the offers for redeeming the Xbox and Amazon gift cards. Xbox says it'll be delivered by Thursday 12/28 and the gift card emailed within 48 hours.

internet shutdown in a few minutes, and complete service disconnection took an hour. Many reps are not aware that we can start service on existing equipment until we receive new ones. I had to jump a few reps until I reached technical support reps, she wasn't aware but took challenge and after long while she was able to push order and start internet service. Activation process took around 2 hours of time becuase many reps not aware that we can swap equipment once we receive new.
Thanks to those who posted their experiences, which really helped dealing with reps.
