What did you tell the Costco rep? The one I talked to said he has no idea or capabilities to add promo. It's something that can only be done online at the actual T-Mobile site
At the beginning the Costco rep wasn't aware what I was talking about, I told him to take a look at promo id 230289, he pulled up the page and I saw that that promo had "verified" status
We stopped in at our T-Mobile store today and they told us we were eligible. We ported in my mother-in-laws phone from Verizon with zero issues. I do plan on watching our account to make sure we get the credits. The store we go to has never let us down before.
I remember from the last byod free line that someone mentioned you cannot ever do a line promo with this line, otherwise it becomes a paid line. Not sure how true it is. I guess the hassle would be trying to remember which line is byod and which isn't.
If only there was some kind of unique number that would be associated with the line. I bet that would help.
I think if such a customer filed a complaint with FCC, executive care would acknowledge the rep mistake and credit or make it right. Used to be a wireless rep
point being, it's annoying to get them to fix their mistake
So writing down and keeping track of the phone number... Duh, captain obvious. So still have to write it down and remember where you keep this? At least other people's suggestion of labeling a nickname for the line is actually useful.
I see that you are a "pro" commenter, so I'm sure you'll need to have the last word. Your original comment was completely unnecessary. That was the best you could come up with? I never said write it down. Email it to yourself or put it in Google Keep. Maybe you could ask the carrier. Is the onus on the customer? Why comment just to comment? If you don't have something of value to add, you probably shouldn't comment.
For those of you who successfully got the promo ID 230289 showing on your account, when the new line was added to your account was the promo ID already there? Or was there some lag time between when the line was added to your account and when the promo ID showed up?

It'll be listed in the "Service Promos" of your account. Phone number and the promotion underneath it's on , or was on.

Yep it was BYOD. Even after I went to the store and got the deal people kept telling me on t-mobile discord and on slickdeals that I was stupid and that the promo credits would magically "drop off". It's been a year and I'm still getting the credits. Unless something has changed, their whole BYOD thing is a myth and it works for device credits.
Based on what I'm seeing on the discord, no one is qualifying for this free line.

It says free voice, does that mean just for calls/txt or also includes data?
