Will free line be free forever or just 1 year?
It says free voice, does that mean just for calls/txt or also includes data?
Yes, it is "forever". Voice line (which includes phone data and texts etc.) vs. a wearable or tablet data line, is what they are distinguishing. In any case, the free line will fall in step with what plan your other phones are on.
Customer rep said it's a free line added yesterday and now today when I looked at my account, my bill is increased. The new rep today asked to wait for biling period to end to reflect promo. Is this a normal process?
I contacted T-force to see if I qualified, and somebody responded in unusually fast 4 minutes saying that I don't, but asking if I was interested in the BOGO offer.
I wonder if he didn't even bother to check, and wanted to make a different sale.
30 min later I tried thru the APP and got same response, so I guess I'm out

Try removing autopay and enrolling into it again. Sometimes that triggers the promotion.
Rep lied and told me promo would be on account. It shows today with no promo code. I call and another rep tells me account was never eligible. Had to cancel, huge waste of time. Was on a One plan.

Follow-up: I had simple choice with 2GB. Few years ago, t-mobile said I will get unlimited data on my lines but hotspot will be limited to 2GB. Will this new line get 2GB data or unlimited like other lines?

This is exactly what happened to me, so I contacted them again via the app chat, and this time the person I chatted with said I wasn't eligible. I'm in the process of cancelling the line and getting the $35 activation fee credited back to me. What a waste of time.
I never had good luck with T-Mobile. Fighting and working with T-Force never helped so I started suing them. Now 3 lawsuits later I have been awarded nearly $5K, had my balances removed and phones unlocked. Go know, that it would be so easy - 2 or the 3 lawsuits were default judgments and the other a simple settlement after they were served. I have 1 more in the pipeline for bigger bucks, in higher court, and only they have anything to lose. Go big or go home!
This only increases the rates for honest consumers.
Yep it was BYOD. Even after I went to the store and got the deal people kept telling me on t-mobile discord and on slickdeals that I was stupid and that the promo credits would magically "drop off". It's been a year and I'm still getting the credits. Unless something has changed, their whole BYOD thing is a myth and it works for device credits.
Based on what I'm seeing on the discord, no one is qualifying for this free line.
Mine dropped off. I signed up last December. They stopped the discount and now i get charged for a full line
I got 3 free lines over the years from different promos I found on SL. This is the most recent one. Here's my post from that thread. Never did those free lines expire or drop off. The discounted line reflected on my next billing cycle and I got credit for the prorated first month charge. Depends on when your cycle ends and when you sign up during the cycle.
Has anyone gone into the actual T-Mobile store to try this?
I just got back from the store, they added it and the rep knew the promo code but looking at my account, it's showing up as an added line for $40. Reading other forums it may take a few days for the promo to show, but right now total bill shows increased with no mention of a promo. Hope it changes.

2GB based on previous experience posted by others. I'm maxed at 10 lines all unlimited so I haven't been able to get an 11th line to try it out.
