Can free line be applied to an existing line or it has to be a brand new line?
Who do you contact to check if available in the account? Phone call or online chat?

I spoke with a rep and gave them all of the reference IDs in the link, but they could not locate this deal. Did anyone else have this issue? Is it possible they already discontinued it?
(On Simple Choice plan) Last Dec 2022 when they had a similar promotion, some folks were reporting that adding a new line even when told they were ineligible still gave them the promotion. I can confirm this is true because I tried that 'experiment' and got the promotion as well on my 9th line. I'm wondering if this will happen again.
Were you qualified for this one? Did you try this experiment again? Thinking about giving it a try.
How long did it take for your last experiment to show success?
T-Mobile isn't the same company it was just a few years ago. Coverage has deteriorated significantly for me over the past 2 years after the "tower upgrade" which is about a half mile from my house. I used to get 5 bars and about100 down. Now I'm lucky if I get 1 bar and the call doesn't drop. Customer service really sucks now and Tforce isn't half as good as they used to be and lets not forget the ever increasing price on premium plans and the lack of deals or incentives for the rest of us. I think it's safe to say that T-Mobile sucks just like the other big guys.

Less competition. Consumers pay $$ for merger. CEO walks away with millions. Part of the plan.

I admit that the deals for free handsets dried up since Legere disappeared, but I can't deny the coverage improvement in my area, esp due to the refarming of sprints spectrum. I have 5G SA in many areas near my house...the speed tests are nice and all, but the real advantage is using my phone when it's busy in the area...it's quite a bit more usable.
Sadly, some places will be unusable forever...like at the Javits center during a convention. Both my TMO and VZ phones were nearly worthless. It was like 0.5mbps vs 1mbps...the VZ was just enough for browsing SD 😆
2 months in on Go5G plus with 2 lines plus a 3rd free. was told that i'm not eligible because of the 3rd line but apparently there's some kind of promo on 12/29 that is coming that i will be eligible for? who knows at this point.

CEO change is a lot of the cause on some of these issues. John was 100x better.

Agreed. Legere was pretty incredible. T-Mobile got everything it wanted, it got sprint, it got additional bandwidth, it got market share so now it operates no differently than the other big boys. Customers are no longer the priority, profits are.
Asked through chat and my rep said I don't qualify. However I got a call from the persons supervisor who reviewed the chat and said they would add my account to the list of qualified accounts and call tomorrow to confirm. Is this legit? I'm going to say okay to add the line and wait to see if it's truly free to port my partners number in. Anything else to watch out for?

So wed I used chat to check eligibility and I qualified and they said to just add the line and it will automatically come off. But at check out there was no mention of any discount. So tonight I called a rep, and even after giving them the ID number they didn't see the deal. I'm going to try to stop by a store and see if I can get anywhere with it. I want to upgrade a phone and move one of the paid off phones to the free line.
that never ends well. they don't have to honor what an employee says. there are a lot of dumb employees who have no clue what they are talking about and spit out incorrect information.
Yeah that happens to me all the time! One employee I talk to say 1 thing and another will say something completely different. By the time I found out, it's too late to reverse! These kind of deals tend to screws your whole plan over. Just make sure you get it in writing, if possible.
This worked for me last night. I called, got a rep on the phone and told her about an email received. I gave her the promotion ID, placed me on hole to confirm with her manager and she squared me away! All I had to do was give the IMEI of the phone and the $35 activation fee waived! Free just feels right.
They gave me the free line but it wasn't the promo 230289, they give me ( This one's on us (AAL additional lines) work for me, i paid for the sim activation though.
