I bought 4 and I'm going to stack them all on the same screen so it will be 1000 lumen for $120
Walmart Free Shipping hack: Order a second, filler item for store pickup. Once the projector ships, cancel the store pickup order (or do nothing and it'll cancel on its own eventually). Don't need to go to the store or return anything.
Curse you OP. I don't even know why I purchased this.

But what if you just bought 2 and had one on the washing machine to make it a "pixel shifter"?
Might work if you can get a decent enough refresh rate out of 'em. 🤨

Is this better than the Vankyo V620?
No. At least not for my setup. I have the Vankyo V620, and I was hoping to buy this as a backup or replacement because the picture on the V620 is starting to have issues. I just got the RCA and it is noticeably more blurry on the edges. Blurry enough to the point that my wife (who is less picky than me and often doesn't wear her prescription glasses) said she wouldn't keep it. My projector is just over 10' from the screen and the wheel for focus is maxed out. So any further than that and you will not be able to even focus the center. The brightness is similar to the v620. I'd say that the internal speaker is better on the RCA, but I personally don't use the internal speaker. Perhaps the blurring on the edges is less noticeable if it's closer to the screen, but I'll likely be returning this… even at $29.

This is a stupid item.

Anyone in SE FL that wants to pay $30 for a real projector...let me know.
it's my old one from a dedicated theater room. 480p or 720p?
I was going to set it up by pool but put up old 55" TV instead and a 42" (we don't have kids).
i can get specs.

Folks.. just want a small economical projector for little kids to play games using old Xbox Kinect.. is this a good fit?
Or I'm looking at this with 450 for a little extra better?

Just got mine, this thing is not bad at all aside from the fan being so loud and the speaker is cheap. But the fan is screaming!

Will this fool a non videophile on a 100" screen? I just spent almost 2 grand on a triple laser projector so I know it's not gonna be even close to the same ballpark but it would be nice to have something outside...

I am using a "Elite Screens 100 Inch 16:9 Spectrum Electric Projector Screen (49"Hx87.2"W) " and I tried one out that I picked up this afternoon.

Here is my take on performance - it was a gloomy day here and with $12 walmart blacjkout curtains it was quite dark in the room and the projector performed nearly on par in terms of brightness as I would expect something like a 1200lumen to do, or maybe 1000, tough to say. It is NOT possible to get enough shadow detail for habitual use - certain stuff will always seem a little more shadowed than ideal. Color is not able to be fully expressed, it is a bit strange possibly something to do with the individual colors washing each other out but using a Dell Ultrasharp monitor I was trying to match up some orangey sunflowers and it simply could not product a competent orange to save its life, was more of a yellow, when I tried to force more red it sorta lost too much detail.

The lens issues some people mention are bogus if you ask me - OK let's just pretend the Keystone doesnt exist because any use of it throws the image to the outer lens which is junk. I am running no keystone and it is perfectly usable as a computer desktop for web browsing and looks no worse than an early LCD.

But now the good part. Overall VERY impressive. I worked in the concert industry half a decade and worked with some $10-20K projectors that had some aspects that performed worse than this cheap $29 miracle of modern manufacturing. This thing should leave one's jaw on the floor for $29. No, the image seriously is sorta remarkable for $29 IF you have the ability to tweak color and such externally as the onboard control are lacking, I think the Mild mode and Warm color worked best.

PC gaming I only tried for a few minutes so far with games like Forza 5 and it was just as playable as on a TV or something. It's always either gonna look a little washed out or like the contrast is a bit wrong. But in terms of clarity - no there are no true clarity issues if you shoot STRAIGHT on and no keystone and play with distance/lens focus.

And it surely does not go much beyond 100" I do not think it even has full capability on my 100 it seems like focus fall off around 96-98 max on my unit sadly.

Worth every penny.

thanks for the video link.

GOOD:
- low cost
- decent brightness.

BAD:
- not clear on corners
- 30ms to 60ms latency.

I've cancelled my order.
was going to get it for retgrogaming but that 30-60ms latenacy is noticable and will get you killed in contra and shooters.

IF you intent to use it with a firestick type device this seems like a great deal.

Ah wth why not. Have a cheap 720p Amazon one in the basement and brightness etc is honestly fine but the resolution is an issue. The distortion at the corners is acceptable and expected on any of these cheap projectors.

p.s. another use I've found for these: projecting images onto walls to trace for murals.

this is highly recommend as a paint for the wall for projector use. the image you get from a projector is amazing.

1qt should be enough for for two layer of 100" screen.

If you appreciate quality, it's probably just gonna be a waste of $29. That doesn't mean someone is expecting high quality at a low price, it just means you're not gonna be happy with it if you want quality and you're just wasting your time. I've purchased three different low cost projector after setting overwhelming positives, considering price, and I've returned every one of them. One of them I didn't even try because they lied about native resolution.

What? ANSI lumens is a standard and are the only kind of lumens that matter when measuring this kind of thing. 250 isn't very bright at all. This is absolutely not "might be like 2000 lumens"
There is non-standard usage of "lumens". Everyone SHOULD be saying ANSI lumens, but they often aren't. That's where I'm coming from at least.

But yes, you're much more correct than I was.

I saw this posted this morning but finally decided to buy it. I'll get it to project on our front windows as decoration, almost cheaper than buying Christmas lights.
