Ref- Ref premier and
Heritage in that order from Klipsch.
Depending on your budget but the RP lineup is a fairly big quality jump in sound and quality.

RP-600M II (No Atmos) x2 = $480
RP-500C II = $330
RP-5000F II x2 = $820
RP-1000SW x2 = $1120
Denon AVR-S970H = $500
Total = $3250
Im very new to the HT space so please let me know if this is not a good comp but it seems its about 2x the price. If i wanted to stay around the $1500 mark would the Ref deal be good or could i do way better?

The RP 5000 I have been on and off sale. The older version of the RP line up are a steal of you are patient.
RP are alot better. I'm a Klipsch fan if you search here you can see a lot of the RP on and off sale.
This isn't a bad system at all but if you can grab the RP anywhere close to this price I would jump in that.
Home audio deals have been awesome right now. Some awesome newer receivers at 50% off. However, these all in one package deals are popular and easier. Personally my preference is spending more on fronts and center as they do most of the heavy lifting. Good luck.

If you decide to piecemeal it, you can skip a center speaker for now if you sit between your main speakers. A center speaker is only for people that sit off to the sides so voices sound like they're coming from the screen. Just set your surround processor to phantom center 👍🏼
Everything in this set is entry level. But who knows, you may be totally happy with it. That will be up to you to decide.
Personally, if "I" had to buy klipsch, I'd get a pair of RP 6" bookshelves for the front (don't need towers if I'm crossing the bass over to a sub, and the towers don't go much lower anyway) and pair of RP 5" for the surrounds, an RP or SPL subwoofer or two, and skip the center speaker since I sit between my speakers. I'd get an avr with either audyssey xt32 or the full Dirac suite. Top tier room correction EQ is a game changer. This is all gonna cost way more than $1500 but I would be shopping for quality, not price.
Just build your system slowly from the crazy good deals at adorama. You'll get there soon ✌🏼

There are units that are 10x in price with even better quality. Why just stop at RP, recommend those while you are at it
