YMMV, but if battery life is important to you, Govee's thermometer / hygrometers have notoriously poor battery lives. This could be fine for your use case, but reviewers report between days to maybe 3-4 months for this specific model.

I decided to grab the e-ink version instead for a few bucks more (11.89 after 30% coupon). It runs off a button battery, with a 1 year battery life.

I use one paired with Govee space heater to maintain a desired temperature. It exceeds my expectation in terms of sync frequency and accuracy (close to Nest thermostat reading). Recommend

Do I really want to add yet another proprietary company app just to use it? I think I have around 8 now. Repeating a comment from another deal thread that we need a moviesanywhere app to consolidate them.

Their 1-point calibration system is pretty useless.

Imagine a graph with Y-scale being temp or humidity and X-scale is time.
1-point calibration simply moves the whole graph up or down, it doesn't change the slope of the graph such as 2-point(or more) calibration would let you adjust.
What that means is the further away the current temp/humidity is from the calibration point, the more likely it'll be off.

These are Bluetooth only, so all the questions about integrating with anything is a no.

Now govee does make great stuff, just look for the wifi versions (much more $).

Not entirely accurate, if you have Home Assistant. It can act as a bridge, so you can have Sensor -> Bluetooth Proxy -> Home Assistant -> Alexa / Google.

Obviously not streamlined, but pretty easy to set up for the tech savvy folks. Nice to have all the data stored locally in Home Assistant too!

That's what I was wondering. I just installed home assistant and trying to add figure out what all is compatible
My Govee devices (mostly WiFi, but some BT) are integrated with my Home Assistant server. They've worked really well, but for some reason, in the past week or so, my H5179 WiFi/BT temperature/hygrometer sensors have been flipping out. The temperature is jumping all over the place. Right now it says my office is 36 degrees, when it's really 68. I've seen them jump to 350 degrees or more, too. The Govee app shows they are reporting normal temps, but Home Assistant is doing something odd.

Good price, as these are respected and feature-packed.
I just wanted something simple for my grow tent, no connectivity necessary. If your needs are basic, like mine, there are cheaper alternatives that get good reviews. For example, the brand Antonki has a 2 pack on Amazon for like $9, and they seem to be well liked.

The majority of people don't have an accurate means of calibrating thermometers/hygrometers. I have 5 of these and I can only assume the average between them all is likely the actual temp, but who knows.

You can use ESP Bluetooth proxy. Very easy to configure. My home Assistant even picks up neighbor's Bluetooth toothbrush. Lol.

How do people make thermometers work? No matter if it's hot or cold the ones I've tried read around 70. It shouldn't be this hard.
