Question
I've been using SD for almost 18 years and the deals really are lacking nowadays. What other websites are you recommending?

In the past, SD felt like a place where consumers could organize to make it easier for people who want something to find a deal on that thing, and the SD company sat quietly in the background just making sure we could do that smoothly. With SD changing hands a couple of times, forums being taken down and increase in sponsors, it feels less like a community and more like the commoditization of our eyeballs.

Though these same "deal hunters" can have all these Amazon "deals". I'll just buy them from the actual store(s) that they're merely matching.

Amazon continues to crush everyone and not just with shipping. When I'm looking for a product on Amazon I just enter a fair price that I can afford and always manage to find something of quality in my price range. The same can't be said for retail. I will miss stores like Macy's and JCP, but didn't and still haven't invested much in their online presence.
