Don't hate. Since there's probably a few looking for a regular priced 4090 before the holidays, this is one of the better ones with no markup from Best Buy, which is even more rare.

Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.

I know that. All I was trying to do was highlight how absurdly high the final / total price is.
That tax amount alone is insane for what is a consumer GPU.

It is what it is. At least BB isn't marking up whatever stock they have like almost everyone else is doing, even sold by Amazon, B&H, Microcenter.
Until chips ketchup to AI demand, these high end GPU are not coming down anytime soon. It's not a fad. However, Nvidia needs competition and it will come eventually but not for minimum 1 year and likely closer to 3.
Though with DLS, and now Intel introducing their own AI gaming tech next year, prices on 4080 are fair enough, supers around the corner, so Does a 4090 really make that much difference for gaming? 4090s are now pro tools, and overkill for casual users

It's called the China chip ban. These will be ultra rare or non-existent until it has a replacement.
And yes, it is a HUGE difference for gaming, and that is coming from someone who went from a 3090TI to a 4090. Just as one example, my 3090TI dipped as low as ~50fps running Forza Motorsport on a 3440x1440p monitor at the highest of ultra settings. Now I only dip as low as ~95FPS at the same settings.
I'm sure it's not that way with every game, but that's a 90% increase in FPS over a 3090TI.

I agree with everything you say actually. I suppose I'm not enough of a gamer to appreciate it. For me, 50 fps is enough to enjoy gaming. However I do understand that true aficionados want more.
China doesn't help, however AI is progressing at the speed of light and the next gen will be in hot demand too. By that time a 4090 will be MUCH cheaper but then the 50 series will also improve fps v 4090 and the cycle continues.
For gaming enthusiasts, either open your wallet, and be content with tech that's always 2 years behind. 3090ti few years ago was fetching 3k! That's my only point... Wanna be at the bleeding edge of tech for gaming? It's gonna cost.
Sort of reminds me of great grandparents generation griping about car prices. They were for decades affordable until suddenly they just zoomed ahead, sometime in 1980s. Not the best analogy.
Suppose eventually when muli-gig internet is common, local gpu won't be in demand much either.. who knows

I heard Nvdia and AMD are merging next year. They will be called Cyberdyne.
Their new GPU series are called the Skytech series.
