aint no premium brand rebranding this as quality. this is getting rebranded by companies like remington or stanley... equally as garbage.

harbor freignt has its place, and i own plenty of HF tools, but my survival kit consists of separately purchased quality tools because if i need to count on them, i need them to work.

Soooo, if you want to save some money... you need a candle, a bottle of water, a bag of candy, and some kitty litter. These are the things I was taught you need for surviving in your car. This kit seems useless for your car (with regards to the OP title). This could be useful to take up some space on a camping trip, but it's a lot of garbage you don't really need.

This reeks of "what do we get dad" "dad likes harbor freight" "dad will like this" "happy/merry/whatever dad". I think HF has come a long way but this ain't one of their winners.

Anyone know what the telescoping rod is between wrist compass and ferry rod?

An expandable baton? Fishing rod? Antenna for space aliens? It's not described in specs.

It's basically a telescoping metal straw. I think it's listed in the product description as a "bellows". The idea is it makes it slightly easier to blow on embers to assist in kindlng a flame.

Like the survival spork, tactical pen, and water bottle clip, it's BS mall ninja crap. To the extent it has any marginal utility, it is so far down the list of sensible survival items that were completely left out of this kit, it's inclusion is a sad joke.

Lol, comments didn't disappoint. Armchair Rambos are en force. This is a fun thing to throw in the trunk and forget about it. Bottle opener and card shaped opener will get the most use in this kit.
