5200 if you have smaller batch requirement as it's has narrow container. I use the 750 with 32oz container as it has auto program mode for my reqt. I let it whisk my eggs everyday when I am preparing rest of my breakfast.

Yeah that's what I hear. And I would be making stuff for me or maybe 1 other person. Reconditioned 5200 is about the same price as this though which makes it tough. But hmm maybe I can just purchase a 32 ounce for the small stuff like you

I would do that. Or use FB marketplace, you can get 5200 for 100-150$

When you look in a professional chef's kitchen, they more often than not have the 5200. But then again, consumers who use their blender less often or for tasks like smoothies might prefer a program-based blender like this one or several others from Vitamix. The 5200 is taller if that's a concern for storage.

Right but from what I read it seems the only reason the 5200 is highly recommended is because of the narrow tall jar, unless there is something with the base of the unit that makes it better
E520 at Costco is the Explorian series, it is entry level. Basically, louder motor with 5-year warranty but good if you don't need the bells and whistles. Costco does include the two tumblers with SS straws.
750 and 5200 series have better/quieter motors. Probably not a big deal unless you really want the smoothest possible blends, more presets and a quieter motor.
If you're just making smoothies, go with the E520. You won't need the better motor. But if noise bothers you and you ever get into 5-minute soups on a preset, going with the 750 series may be worth the extra price just for the reduced noise.

Yeah, it's crazy how many gently used Vitamix I see in my local FB marketplace. If I could find a like-new 5200 for under $150, I'd rather go that route than a new 750.
The base of this unit is higher-end than the base of the 5200 (I think more noise-dampening, some program options, and probably a touch higher power motor too, but I didn't go bother to look at that).
I would probably lean to getting this now, and then keep my eyes peeled for a deal on the container you prefer later.
I like these legacy series blenders... I don't want all that smart-detect stuff... It's a freaking blender, enough with all the overly fancy stuff.

It has a very accurate and precise infinite dial which is why most people appreciate it over predefined fixed speeds.
