That's my initial thought as well. No one has chimed in as to why this is a nice mug either. Soo guess it's safe to assume it's just the name.

Nice find. I've never seen those stoneware mugs on sale at half price before. A few minor points:
- Amazon also has the mug in Shallot at half price [amazon.com].
- You don't need to have an account with Macy's to get free shipping as long as your order is over $25. I just did it.
- There is no store pickup available for the Macy's mugs. It looks like delivery is the only option. (Edit/correction: this is apparently only within 100 miles of my location. YMMV.)

I bought a similar mug from one of their brick and mortar stores a few years ago and it has held up great. Holds a lot of liquid (but I think the one I have is slightly bigger) and the glaze is holding up fine.

I like basic Walmart and M Ware mugs like my freebie white mug from a church, others from Pier 1 and crate and Barrel, the LC mug is a step above in enamel and has a nice handle plus color.
