As someone who uses this often, I would HIGHLY recommend a windscreen for this. Either buy a cheap one or just make your own. Trying to shield the wind using coolers and the like are a pain.

BTUs are okay. It's not going to compete with jetboil. The igniter has already gone out on ours after a year. We just store a cheap mini Bic lighter inside that doesn't have butane. The only thing great about it is the compactness. Price is relative but $50-60 seems fair considering I paid $30 for my OG Coleman 2 burner stove; however that was all pre-Covid.

Can this be hooked up to a larger propane tank that is used for grills?

Will this get hot enough to be capable of deep frying in a medium 10-12" pot?

There should be no problem using a tank with an adapter and regulator. Look for the ones like a Blackstone uses.

The advantage of this one is it's about half the size. If bulk isn't important, there are likely better alternatives, such as the one you found.

I have the exact same stove from your link, I got it for around $40 from Target 3 years ago. It's a good stove but the gap between the burners is not big enough. And it doesn't have an igniter.

I replaced it early this year with the one on this deal. I liked how compact this stove is. But they both have the same weakness, the grills that hold the pans/pots are too far from the burners. I do see people modifying them.

Makes sense, I'd use primarily for camping though and can see no windshield being an issue as some of the reviews suggested. Was honestly a coin flip for me because I love the compactness of the fold-n-go.

Got the stove yesterday and, unfortunately had to return and reorder as one of the piezo igniters didn't work out of the box.
So do test it before the return period is over.
